The best sword fighters without a doubt are the, jedi. Obi Wan vs Anakin in episode 3 is the most spectacular piece of sword fighting you will ever see.

Only if you're talking Hollywood movies from the last fifteen years.

1. Kyuzo from the Seven Samurai--only swordsman I've ever seen in a movie who never, ever clashed blades with his opponent: he only ever needed a single, calculated stroke.

2. Li Mui Bai--he bested another Wudan fighter, who had a magic sword, with just a stick as his weapon.

3. The Bride/Beatrice Kiddo--she took on 87 wired-up stuntmen. Not bad.

4. Dread Pirate Wesley--He proved better than Inigo Montoya, and fought as well with one hand as the other.

5. Robin Hood (Errol Flynn)--That he could fence so well while chafing in those green tights is certainly amazing.

I really think Inigo Montoya should have beaten Wesley/Pirate Roberts. To this day, I consider that a 12-5 upset as far as sword-fighting goes.

I wouldn't say lame, I enjoyed it for what it was. I have seen better films in the genre, but it was entertaining.

Plus, I thought it had a fantastic opening, one of the best I have seen in any movie.

I agree with you on those. Not sure why people are saying the Bride in Kill Bill 1/2 if she had her ass handed to her by the Chinese Master.

I would guess Blade would go as one of the best (of course he is not fully human). The same would go for Darth Maul (I didn't see the other Jedi's fight as awesome as he did).
