Best to Worst of the Dark Knight Trilogy

The Dark Knight (obvious why)
Batman Begins This one might tired with TDK.
The Dark Knight Rises I like it a lot Hardy great as Bane and Anne as Catwoman but as a story I like BB & TDK on this.

The Dark Knight (perfect).
The Dark Knight Rises (In spite of having several aspects I might prefer the Knight, it's a little inconsistent... Still amazing).
Batman Begins (I really like it, but it's the most 'regular' of the trilogy. Nothing too special/interesting going on, in story or visuals).

but what if he didn't want to make it clear? you just ruined that guys post, brahsif.

1. Batman Begins
2. The Dark Knight Rises
3. The Dark Knight

Begins is absolutely underrated and to this day in my opinion is easily the best of the Trilogy. Begins starts the arc with Rises closing it. And then for good measure, we get The Dark Knight which is basically a one shot in my opinion.

1. TDK - Best Batman movie ever
2. BB - Best superhero origin movie
3. TDKR - Total mess

It is like a one shot isn't it?

How is it like a one shot? Just because it doesn't have the League of Shadows in it? Take TDK out of the trilogy and half TDKR wouldn't make any sense. Why is Batman retired? Why is Bruce Wayne limping on a cane? What happened to Rachel? Who is Harvey Dent and why is Gotham hero worshiping him? What is this big cover up Gordon is feeling guilty about? What is this letter about Rachel that Bruce and Alfred fall out over? Where is the Tumbler, and where did the Bat-Pod come from? Why are the Cops chasing Batman for multiple murders? Etc etc.

One shot my foot.

The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight speaks for itself.

Batman Begins is very underrated, and is a very satisfying movie. Best Origin film since Superman: The Movie.

The Dark Knight Rises has too many little flaws for me, so its ranked last.

I'm gonna go start that "Rank EVERY Bat film from best to worst" now.

Dark Knight: 9/10
Begins: 8/10
Rises: 5/10

maybe I should've added a poll to this thread

I'd rate BB/TDK about the same and TDKR as my least favourite.

I think BB is the most watchable. I like how we see the origin of Batman, the portrayal of Gotham City is probably my second favourite to the Burton movies. The villains were ok, but probably the weakest of the trilogy.

TDK is probably the most well made of the Nolan films. Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhardt were great. However, it does have its flaws. The action is not that great, and it does tend to drag in parts. It does wrap nicely, though, which is why I wish this was the last Nolan film in the series.

TDKR was just a chore to sit through. I do enjoy Tom Hardy as Bane. Anne Hathaway as Catwoman was ok, but nothing memorable. Marion Cotillard was miscast as Talia, and Robin was very poorly shoehorned in there. I did like some aspects of the plot, but not the characterisation of Bruce Wayne/Batman. There were some plotholes and stupid things in it. Overall, a poor way to end the trilogy.

I think this was supposed to be the case. The movie is about Batman mainly, not his foes. Kinda like GOTG, the focus is on the heroes. Get to know them, identify with them.

And Robin being shoehorned? Well maybe, but he wasn't really Robin. It was just a very minor wink if anything. Did the wink add anything? NO. But did it ruin, most certainly not.

The entire Batman franchise?

Listen, there are valid complaints about TDK Rises. But the hyperbole around it's quality, due to lofty expectations is quite absurd. Still has great moments of entertainment. Gotham under seige by Bane, USA's no man's land, TDK Returns elements, Hathaway's Selina, the homage to Robin. It's better then decent as both a film, and way better than average as a comic book film.
