Question.

Anyone use a good scanner to digitally scan their old comics for archiving? I would like to back up the six issues of Phantom Guard as PDF documents so I'll never lose them.

Can anyone recommend a good scanner?

Sorry if this doesn't fit in this forum.

The best way is to cut them up and glue them into a scrap book.

Good luck!

HP scanners are decent for lower prices

just download the comics using bittorrent. That's how I backed up my entire Punisher collection.

pdfs are the work of the devil. scan them zip them rename the extention cbz and download CDisplay.

Whoever invented CDisplay is a genius. Best way to read digital comics.

Agreed. I have it and it's hella useful.

It is a good little program.

Exactly. I just want to back up my own personal collection. I already own the books.

HP and Canon both make very good scanners on the low and mid-range ends. I've always been a fan of HP's imaging products (though Canon's digital cameras are top notch). I have a ScanJet 4070 myself and love it. It takes fantastic scans and has a nice feature-set.

I already own the titles I backed up as well. I just didn't feel like bending them all up with scanning them myself, so I downloaded them.
