Bill Hader is BARRY (HBO)

ronny/lily was the funniest episode of anything I've seen in years.

"I don't want to sound like a creep but do you want to get in the car with me and my friend? I've got Corn Nuts! No no no, don't run away! I'm a nice guy!"

Tears were streaming down my face from laughing so hard. Stephen Root is an underrated comic legend.

I watched it twice in succession last night and I’m was laughing just as hard on my second watch. It was absolutely bonkers. It’s a “WTF did I just watch???!” but in the greatest way possible.

Hader’s “Okay” when he saw Lily somersault through the yard was just perfection. :lmao:

Bumping cause this fantastic series isn't talked about enough

Also as an excuse to share my tribute :

Stephen Root Hopes ‘Barry’ Seasons 3 and 4 Can Shoot in Quick Succession

Had you started filming Season 3 already?

ROOT: We wish we had. We were gonna start April 1st. We had our first table read on the Thursday before the Friday that everything happened. So, we had a table read for the pilot of the third season, and the next day, everything fell apart and we stayed home. And then, by Monday, everything was as you see it. So, I think we’re not probably gonna be doing back until January to do this, but hopefully HBO is going to let the powers that be write Season 4, and maybe we can do those real quick together. We’re gonna try to do that.

Had you been given hints, as to what would happen, over the course of Season 3? Are you aware of where things will go, when you do get back?

ROOT: We’re aware of where they start ’cause we were able to read a couple of scripts, that first day. So, we’re aware of where the season’s gonna start and where everybody starts. We have some idea of what’s gonna go on. Obviously, just for safety’s sake, we haven’t been allowed to look at other scripts, which I get. I think as it gets later in the year, we’ll be able to maybe have some kind of a table read again, whether that’s a Zoom table read or not. I think we’ll be able to get a little more information, when it comes closer to the time of actually doing it. But it’s such a hard thing to even imagine doing because all of the unions have gotta get together on how they wanna do it, and all of the studios have to implement the changes that are gonna happen. In Perry Mason, we had 200 extras, every day, for those courtroom seats. You won’t see that anymore. You’re gonna see smaller scenes with fewer people in them. That’s just the way it’s gonna be for awhile. But I think we’ll manage to do it. I think everybody will do what they have to do to get back to work. We all wanna get back to work. You wanna work on great projects, and you wanna get back to it, at some point, so we’d love to do that.

I’m hoping that once they do start filming again, HBO allows them to film seasons 3 & 4 back to back, scheduling permitting.

I’m fiending for this show to be back. One of the best things HBO’s got going for it. I didnt know that havent even started filming :(

Got Binge (Australia's HBO Max, effectively) for ZSJL and S&L and ended up dipping into an episode of this... Ploughed through both seasons over a couple of nights.

Incredibly well written and performed. Season 2 hit me harder in a couple of places, in terms of both Barry's and Sally's individual stories and the way they intertwined, to the point where it was getting me down, but then the brilliant comedy pulls me right back up. Haven't seen anything quite like this before.

The cast from top to bottom are exceptional, but I always feel a smile on my face when Winkler and Carrigan show up.

Of course, have to agree about the feral kid fight, total highlight of the series so far.

Jesus, they’re only now starting production?

Yeah **** is definitely coming out next year.

I’m still a bit flabbergasted production on S3 is only just getting started. Not to sound like I expected them to get right back to work with everyone else, but they got renewed April 2019 and the shutdown happened happened almost a whole year later. I guess there’s precedent for HBO series taking whatever kind of hiatus they need to deliver results, but it just kind of surprises me.

Agreed!

I get it, I was surprised they didn't at least start this past spring but I guess I'm just used to it based on how long the wait was between seasons 8 and 9 of Curb.

I just pray that filming isn’t halted because of the variant.
