well sure if he wants to do a quick cameo like lucy lawless in one.or some kinda returning inside humor like bruce Campbell.or have a minor role like Ted Raimi...wonder if they had a 4th movie would they of gave a part to Renee O connor. like kurt connors wife or something....Anyways.I don't really like the idea of BBT playing a villain.in a spider-man movie.just doesn't feel right

Can't believe I didn't think of this last night when reading the thread....but he could make for an awesome J Jonah Jameson, he could be as good as JK Simmons. If he is up for a part in the movie, I would guess that would be it.

I can see Billy Bob as JJ, but Simmons nailed it and it'd be damn near impossible to surpass his performance

Simmons was a cartoon character, a silly and juvenile comic relief stooge, with no weight in his performance. Easily beatable. But I blame that on The King Of Cheese himself, Raimi.

Billy Bob is a pretty good actor imo, but sorry, I can't see him as JJJ! You have to actually pic actors that FIT a certain character, not just to pick actors because they are good!

Simmons looked like JJJ and he could've been even better, but like you said, it was Raimi's fault and his silly cheese insertion in movies. I didn't really enjoyed Jameson in SM3, he was way too corny. But then again, those cutted SM2 scenes with JJ in the SM costume were also corny as hell, I can't understand why they did that in the first place.

While there are certain cases where you are right (you can't have Ian McKellen play Neo), I disagree with this. A good actor can fit the role, if the role isn't something very specific, appearance-wise. Ledger didn't seem to look the part, but we all know how that turned out.

Since Raimi didn't use and (as it seemed) didn't plan to use Scorpion, I was OK with his JJJ. But I still prefer a more "serious" portrayal of him and not just for laughs. So I want this JJJ to be serious. We didn't see much how much of a threat to Spider-Man JJJ actually can be. It was only touched upon. And I'd also love to see Scorpion some time and a goofy JJJ just wouldn't work then. JJJ is a much deeper character than what Raimi showed us.

You are absolutely right, there's much more to JJJ's character and in SM3 he was just being silly and impossible to be taken seriously! Raimi went over the top with the cheese imo.

As for Scorpion, what can I say, you just read my mind. As I've stated several times, I really want Scorpion and I want them to touch that storyline! I want to see JJJ finally being sick of Spider-Man, he's finally had it and wants to take matters into his own hands!! Plus, I think this story could work well with the black suit aswell! JJJ finally decides Spider-Man has become too much of a menace and that he has to be stopped somehow!

Calm down man, I wasn't saying any of that should happen in the first movie!

Besides, if they will introduce Scorpion and do that JJJ storyline, it should only be in the 3rd or the 4th movie!
