From the very same spiderman2o29 that was posting on the SHH boards before the SM4 villain rumors hit and was right, too. He's gotten a lot of info before and was right about it. Remember him?

What does everyone think about this?

If you wanted more quips, it seems your prayers will be answered if the script isn't completely changed.

Gwen as love interest; MJ as more of a friend.

He said a couple times that if you loved TSSM you'll love this. So that gives me comfort.

People can say what they want about Webb being a music video director but 500 days of summer was a very good film. Good acting and good directing. Now, as a competent director if the script is as good as this guy claims then there is very little to worry about; after all, the script is the most important thing as it's the foundation of a good movie.

I actually trust in this and if he's telling the truth, I am DAMN EXCITED!! I can't wait to see something that's faithful to Spidey on screen.

EDIT: However, after reading more in the comments from him...he's saying "don't be surprised if Norman Osborn becomes a monster rather than having a suit". Also, he's saying that fans of the classic Spider-Man might not be as pleased. So I don't know what to think (if he's telling the truth, that is)

Spectacular Spider-Man?

Were they holding up an Ultimate comic with a hole in it and watching SSM on a TV?

Regarding the review of the script, I dont know what to make of it. It seems to have a lot of things to do with SSM than anything else, and the last thing I want after seeing all of the episodes is a predictable story with all the dynamics of the show.

I like having MJ as a friend to Peter, like in SSM. It works really well if Gwen dies...I would be a bit shocked if my GF died and my mother set me up with a total stranger, and she said to me "Face it,Tiger. You just hit the jackpot". I'd be ******* fuming!!! So her consoling Peter and growing closer works better.

I just hope they get the feel of both Ultimate and SSM,without making it too predictable.

If Norman HAS to transform, then I still stand by him transforming into the 616 Goblin, instead of the horny hulk thing..

If they guy isn't full of crap, that it all sounds good!

Ugh...Green Goblin...can't we just use an unused villian like Lizard or something?

I didn't get the part with Green Goblin.. when does he mention him?
All I got was for us to expect unused villains from the first trilogy, and by hinting for a villain that fans wanted I guess Lizard will be. That way my ideal plan for a Spidey script would be fulfilled. How better can it be for Spidey to face a friend who transforms into a monster while still adapting his newly gained powers and fears of one day becoming such a monster.
I don't know if anything of this is true I guess that's a Spider-Man everyone wanted to see. And if in any way Spectacular Spider-Man is used as an inspiration then we'll get a film faithful and true to the real mythology.
I guess they'll use Ultimate Universe as inspiration, but I don't expect the villains to be exactly as in Ultimate Spider-Man. And the new show that will use them as they are somehow proves that to me. You can't have film and animated series that have same villains and stories. I guess Green Goblin will mutate, maybe, but he will not be a Hulkish brute who throws fireballs.

I think it would be good Spidey drama if Connors acted like a father figure to Peter, since his Uncle Ben's death, and becomes The Lizard. Its a more realistic approach to why Spider-Man wants to save him.

And all this 'Lizard is a sympathetic villain' talk must end. He's sympathetic in the comics, and thats faithful, unlike Raimi's movies where he could even make the Devil look sympathetic,to everyone's annoyance.

I really can't believe that guy JUST came across this. I saw this video weeks ago!

Connors doesn't need to act like a father figure for Peter to save him. Kurt is a scientist and a teacher peter respects. Kurt has a family of his own and Peter more than most knows the implications of losing a loved one. As examples of motion picture representations the lizard episode in SSM and night of the lizard (90s TAS) conveyed this perfectly.

I don't know if I buy it. The review sounds a bit too good to be true and it sounds like something fans would want to hear. I hope that the review is true.

True. But he is a father like figure to Peter. It would make sense for him to see Connors to an extent like that, especially after Ben's death. But depends on the script.

That guy used to post here. He claimed that big news would come soon about Spider-Man 4 (this is when it was still happening). The only thing related to Spider-Man that popped up was the Julia Stiles Black Cat rumor. He was banned.

What I don't understand is why he didn't mention more specific information? Most of that was pretty basic stuff, except for Gwen and SSM I guess. Why didn't he give us the villian?

I WANT MOAR.

If this is true, I'm damn excited. Who didn't love TSSM? Watching the series, if there was ever something they should be inspired by, it should be TSSM. I prefer the show over USM.

Love all the ideas with Peter screwing up and having to reconcile with them and struggling with the ego of Spider-Man while still trying to be Peter. Although that sounds like anything Spider-Man, I'm still excited about what they're doing.

And what was that music in the background?

Sounds good... except the Hulk Goblin part. Always hated that version.

In the comments section on CBM, although in the video didn't he say there will be different villains that the fans wanted? Or something like that.

Yah, what video did you watch? Didn't hear anything about that.

If inspired by Spectacular Spider-Man, then I want Norman Osborn setup, love the concepts of villains created, love the concept of a "Kingpin" type mob boss, the action, Gwen first, the witty Spider-Man, the whole series, they'd be dumb not to benchmark.

Also it sounds like The Lizard, the way he describes it, and that coincides with the Lizard rumors we've been hearing, or that I have read lately.

It wasn't in the video, it was a comment he made in the comments section.

Oh wow. What a great idea. We've never seen that before....:whatever:

Oh wait, we did in Spider-Man 1 and 2. And Peter didn't already know who Connors was in the comics before he became the Lizard. I am so sick of these sympathetic villains.

Doc Conners didn't play a father figure in Raimi's films.

I agree about sympathetic villains though, pretty sick of them. But then again, Lizard/Doc Conners is a pretty sympathetic villain in the comics anyway.

Connors acted like a father figure to Peter before? Im bummed,I thought it was my idea.:woot:

You could say he did, I guess, but it was very downplayed, if it was there at all. No reason not to do it now.
