Birds of Prey

It was on CNX in the UK. CNX shut down halfway through the second run of BoP.

Ah yes, one of the most lame excuses.

Clayface came off like a joke in the final three episodes.

no. he was just a fat guy with a messed up face.

From what I remember they just smeared clay over a man. I think they cut away when he changed faces.

The traditional Bat villians really got screwed in the long run including Lady Shiva, who wore a costume to cover her face, no less.

The second episode to see Babs in full Batgirl gear.

^^Wasn't it the first.

also, they gave Lady Shiva a little sister who I guess was supposed to be some version of Cassie Caine.

She appeared in costume in the Pilot, but the second appearence of the whole suit visably was that episode.

The thing really blew that episode was being Helena's best friend during high school.

The sister was never named. All we knew was Barbara felt guilty for causing the building to explode.

The biggest continuity issue in that episode is Batgirl is using BoP batarang instead of a traditional batarang.

I just saw a preview on youtube that showed Joker fighting Batman in a burning fire.

Batgirl's costume looks cool.

Their used to be full on images of Babs as Batgirl. Just can't recall from where.

batman just shouldnt have a spinoff tv show with crappy production values. I mean, this was as good.. worse.. then B&R.

I have all these on tape and actually watched afew episodes a couple months back. Its worse than I remebered.lol. It defintely had potential, no doubt, but they just had the wrong people involved in it. It did get stronger for the last few episodes, but the rest was just...bleh. An interesting footnote in the Batman mythos I guess.

Batman appeared in the last episode at the end when he recieves a call from Alfred on the status of Gotham and there were always the various Batman montages.

He did? I thought it was just Alfred talking to him (Bruce) on the phone. The only "costumed" appearance of Batman I remember seeing was during the opening and flashback sequence.

Yeah, he appears in that last episode in the shadows via the phone call from Alfred as Bruce Wayne. The Batman appearences were strictly during the openings of each episode exception of the Pilot.

I think it's stupid to make a Batman tv show with no Batman but to taunt him in every episode and make you think he'll show up:whatever:

Hmm?

Production value looked decent to me.

The show had the budget that SMALLVILLE did. At one point, in fact, they were actually going to do a comic spin-off of the show.

There was never any expectation for Batman to show whatsoever.

He had left "New Gotham" to do his own some unknown thing. The show was titled Birds of Prey. Not Batman and the Producers knew as such going in, but Helena WAYNE had to deal with the legacy that was thrust on her, whether she chose to or not.

Was it a Batman based show? Yes, but then again setting it in New Gotham...to hell with Gotham City. That legacy is going to be there regardless of who they put in place.

New Gotham is just the NML map turned sideways. :oldrazz:

Yeah, which is just hilarous lol

I'm just thankful they never got their hands on Dick Grayson.

Grayson did get mentioned; Tim Drake too. Part of some speech Oracle gave Helena about how they train heroes to not kill.

The best thing about it was Oracle. She had the look and characteristics you could hope for.

I really wish the DCAU would consider making a Birds of Prey cartoon spun-off from JLU. It would have Huntress, Black Canary and Barbara (although she wouldn't be paralysed since she is walking in Batman Beyond).

The advantage would be characters such as The Question, Green Arrow, Nightwing and Batman could cameo regularly. It would be a nice follow up to Justice League Unlimited, and downscaled a bit too.

Another live action version wouldn't be attempted, thats for sure.

Just proof like SMALLVILLE the producers don't have a clue as to what their doing with the material.

I'm with you on the animated form by Timm and co. That would be perfect.

But thankfully they didn't appear. That's what I was aiming for.
True. It most likely would have been bad.

It seems they just couldn't decide on a direction for the show. Missed opportunity.
