Birds of Prey

I think the last episode nailed what could have been but had they stopped playing around with Meta's every week and focusing on Helena's continual distrust issues with her father, the show could have been something stronger.

Barbara as a school teacher during the day really didn't do anything for her. Felt like a plot device to connect her to Dinah.

if batman were actually in it and the post above were how the show was, then yeah it would of been ok.

The problem is the show was nowhere near what it should have been.

I liked small bits but it wasn't a Batman series.

^^
I think we've already had one. ;) Adam West anyone?

I agree with you though.

The Adam West one really doesn't do Batman justice.

It was great for it's time but it's not the modern Bat, that we all and know and love from the comics.

The Batman remains purely for the kiddos and there really isn't anything for the long time readers, fans, etc.

The show has become more mature in recent seasons.

I get that but it's still limited to Kid TV limits.

I'm a fan of the show don't get me wrong, but it can't go into the darkness of some of the comics or the police drama, that we see Bats dealing with. I mean it can't go Frank Miller dark.

Though we've seen their limitation on THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.

I enjoyed that but I'd love to see a live action Batman show, that has adult themes, a serious tone, and maybe a bit darker material. TV-14 and up basically, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

True.

I don't think a live-action show would ever work though.

a series would need a movie budget.:o

It works for Smallville which features many special effects and has a strong production value. George Lucas is now in development of a Star Wars tv show, live action.

10 years from now would be a perfect time to do one. By then it would quite feasible. As George Lucas has said, tv is the future.

That and I'd just love a serious live action Batman show:woot:

If it ever happened, it would probably be years from now.

Edit: I read about the old Bruce Wayne tv show that was going to go into production in the early 00s. It was cancelled because WB wanted to do Begins instead.

Which was understandable in their defense. Especially if the show ultimately proved to be a failure. Which may or may not have hurt Begins in the long run.

Frankly, I wouldn't have wanted Alfred Gough and Miles Millar near Batman. They've literally turned Superman into a joke on SMALLVILLE.

I've liked small portions of the show but it basically became Clark lusts and stalks Lana for season after season.

I know they've got their own mythos going for the show, which I understand but it's but it's SMALLVILLE OF OUR LIVES. With the exception of the Justice League, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, and the like.

It's a show that just completely stepped away from the bounds of what it should have been aiming for.

Erica Durance and Allison Mack are about the only mainstays on the show that I like.

Smallville is repetitive in every way imaginable. However I do give them credit from finally trying to move forward in the series with Lex as an antagonist and such.
