Plus it's hard to put life into Deacon, being such a quiet yet devoted man of his work and the actor seems to have captured that. Obviously until I see it, I can't fully tell, but Taylor's guy doesn't quite seem to have the same 'swagger & verve' as Taylor did.

Nailing 3/4 of the members isn’t bad, though! Rami, Joseph, and Gwilym really seem to disappear into their parts!

At first glance, I seriously thought that was the same picture, just with a different filter.

Just letting you know it is the same picture. All I did was extend Rami's cheekbones, got rid of the bags under the eyes, added some eyeliner, thickened the neck, made his bottom teeth longer and more crooked like Freddie's and made the jawline bigger. All things that could have been done in post to give Rami Freddie's look.

Here's another one I did. Again, it's still Rami only I sloped his forehead slightly, made the jawline and chin a bit bigger and thickened the neck. Looks just like Freddie from the side IMO.

Impressive work, and goes to show that Rami is aesthetically quite close to Freddie if a few alterations are all it takes to make them look nigh on identical. It looks great in still shots but I doubt they could have done this for the duration of the film without it being too CGi'y looking in movement.

It looks great in still shots but I doubt they could have done this for the duration of the film without it being too CGi'y looking in movement.

Exactly/ Just the slightest of alterations and they are identical twins. Rami is as close to Freddie as you'll get without computer or some physical enhancement. I understand big CGI scenes costing a lot and being a lot of work but surely a small bit of CGI here and there cant be to distracting. They can make Michael Douglas look 25 years younger with ease but some slight adjustments to Rami won't work?. That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Then again i am a simpleton when it comes to movie making lol.

True, perhaps on a technical level it may have been easier than I envisage. But if they didn't go down that route I wonder if it was for budget reasons or if they simply didn't want to risk having aesthetic effects somehow distracting from Rami's performance (which, by any accounts I've heard so far, is fantastic).

I don't think CGI or prosthetics are really necessary, he's already closer than plenty of actors playing real people.

Sex crimes are pretty hard to prove and convict. It is especially hard against wealthy and powerful people that folks have a vested interest in not seeing them convicted. A lot of very wealthy, famous and powerful people attended Singer's parties and it would not be a good for them if word got out about sex crimes taking place at those parties. We already know convicted sex offenders attended Singer's parties and were a part of his circle which doesn't look good combined with the fact Singer also liked hanging out with some barely legal looking dudes.

Cosby and Weinstein escaped justice for decades.

Cosby and Weinstein only got brought down when they were both far less powerful. Cosby is eighty, going blind and already burned a lot of support in the African American community with his overly judgmental egotistical act he had been doing the last twenty years.

Weinstein's company was making loses and on the brink of collapse before the scandals about him broke. The entertainment industry had no real need to keep covering for those guys but they do for Singer who is still a director and producer on a number of successful projects.

Well, sure. And like I said, it wouldn't surprise me if someday someone links something substantial to Singer - there's plenty of smoke.

Yet, his accusers have been dismissed so far, from memory one of them was even proved/admitted to have made it up. Add that to the "this is about the third cycle of this, it always comes up the week before a movie of his hits" factor, and I'm not willing to condemn the guy assuming he's guilty yet. He just may be, but at the same time there's plenty of factors with the assumed narrative about the guy that don't quite feel legit too.

Weinstein basically went down because things became proven, Farrow's stuff and the proven NBC cover-up and the cops eventually getting involved. If it ever rises to that with Singer, absolutely, the benefit-of-the-doubt stuff evaporates instantly as it should. Just don't know it's quite there yet for me though, judgement-call wise. This stuff has actually been to court a couple of times, the evidence was basically ****-all, and at least one of the accusers' credibility was basically zero. If that changes in future, cool, we all throw Bryan to the wolves and delight in him never working again, Spacey style. As of yet though, it's not a Weinstein situation.

This is fab. I did wonder why they didn't give him dark brown contact lenses. Freddie's eye colour was almost black. I know some actors don't get along with them or think it's harder to emote from the eyes with them in so maybe that's why...

They originally gave Daniel Radcliffe contact lenses to give him Harry Potter’s eye color, but they irritated his eyes too much I guess.

Yess! I have tickets for a 6pm showing tomorrow. I can't wait. I hope my expectations aren't too high... but at the end of the day, I at least know I get to sit back and listen to some Queen music for 2 hours so it can't be a total loss.

Reading the reviews the one theme running through them is how sanitised it is. Brian and Roger have always been super protective of Freddie’s and the bands legacy, so I’m not entirely shocked by that happening here, although I am disappointed to read it.

Yep. The trailers looked great, but hearing it is shallow and sanitized makes perfect sense all things consider. I am disappointed, but it was expected.
