Bought/Thought 4/4

Speaking of awesome splash pages, who else loved the DD/Wolverine splash in Fallen Son?

scalped #4 - i said earlier that while it's a stylish and fun read, american virgin is by no means vertigo's best book. if jason aaron can keep up what he's done in the first four issues of scalped, i think he'll have a serious must read classic on his hands. i can also see this book as a very edgy tv series. this is just damn good stuff. aaron's going to be a star, and guera's pencils are a perfect fit.

a new storyline kicks off here, and it's mainly about the past; specifically gina and red crow's past. the two were activists 30 years ago, and this arc looks to explain what led red crow to turn on his beliefs, at the same time keeping gina firmly set in hers.

oh, and dash beats some people up, too.

Fallen Son Pick Of The Week (IMHO)of course. Being as that i haven't picked up a DD book in awhile, it was good to see him in action(in the suit). My only question is one of continutiy if
If Wolverine finds Caps dead body during this story and vows to go back to tell everyone
Then what was the cause for the HeliCarrier break-in during NA?

Avengers: Initative #1 - AMAZING. I didn't think Slott could write a serious book. I love ALL the new characters and the one I didn't really care about kicked the bucket. The Gauntlet is an interesting character. I thought was just gonna be another bald hard-ass black guy but he's a funny bald hard-ass black guy  Glad to see Rhodey back too. 10/10

53 #48 - BORING! I didn't care about this issue one bit. Sucks that Montoya has to have people keep dying in her arms. I feel pretty bad for Black Adam too, poor guy. 3/10

Omega Flight #1 - Pretty good. For a second, I thought Sasquatch was just gonna pwn the Crew but they didn't just go down, I'm really curious to see how/why Beta Ray joins the team. 8/10

Runaways #25 - This will sound spastic but here goes: Molly didn't annoy me too much this issue and she even made me laugh. I thought Tony got the kids at the end of the last issue, why does it seem like they're on vacation? Who's that angel guy at the end(new character or an old one I don't know?). Why is Chase so immature? 7/10

Silent War #3 - I hate time travel, pretty meh issue. Was nice seeing Jamie and Layla though 7/10

Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus #2 - Firelord's story was ok, but Surfer's was awesome. I was really hoping to see Galactus throw down with those two *****es though :( 8/10

Ant-Man #7 - Damn good issue. I LOOOVE the art and the writing was different...better. Eric didn't seem like quite the jerk and actually did some good. One thing though, who are Damage Control and who cares? 9/10

JLA #7 - I don't think we needed another "Yay, we're a team" issue  I hate Roy's new costume nd his new name. I don't get what's going on with Geo-force. Ugh, this was just not stuff that should be going on in ISSUE 7. 6/10

Iron-Fist #4 - PICK OF THE WEEK! This book is F'n awesome. So many questions were raised about what Danny can do with his powers. 10/10

Avengers: The Initiative- This is really reminiscent of New X-Men, but with an Avengers feel to it. I already like the cast, too. Gauntlet works well in his role. I like the whole "We're gonna make you an Avenger, not a New Warrior" angle. Very interesting, particularly Vance's reaction to it. Caselli's art looks great. I love his Slapstick. I really don't want to buy 3 Avengers monthlies (4 when Young Avengers comes back), but Slott's got me hooked, at least for a few issues. Great start. 9/10

I thought it was too much of a new mutants/new x-men rip-off. Where the hell did all these non mutant superheroes come from anyway? And the best characters
got killed and then the other one kicked out
not leaving much to go on.

MVP was just a white Patriot. And something's up based on that doc's last message and they got Armory's weapon so I don't see why she had to stay. We didn't even knoe that much about her

it happens after that

Ms. Marvel # whatnot.

It was actually pretty cool. Julia gets out, and immediately wants her daughter, well duh. So she tries tracking Carol down via her cohort Anya. They proceed to fight just as Carol figures out that Julia is definitely going after Anya to find Carol to find Julia's daughter. She arrives just in time to see the recently depowered Anya lay the smack down on Arachne. Arachne is still torn up over the Civil War bit (which I guess is reasonable on some level) totally refusing that she brought it on herself (which she did, like it or not), and Carol feels bad for it. So Carol basically undergoes what the Registration was trying to prevent, and uses corrupt methods of kidnapping and aiding a felon with SHIELD technology (that she's lucky Stark just likes her so much he doesn't flat out arrest her for it, furthering corrupt natures and the like). It's pretty cool. It solidifies Arachne's place on Omega Flight.

Initiative: Avengers. Kind of crappy. Drives home the idea Civil War originally started with, the government can't be trusted for anything, and will employ tactics beyond underhanded such as denying a children's death. Love the new War Machine look, and disliking the Yellowjacket at the moment, but Gauntlet rocks.

I might do craptacular reviews of other comics. We'll see.

Nothing much man busy with work and school, I recently hurt my back again so I'm manning my way through the pain and you?

School, the gym, my comic habit, liquor. You know, college stuff

Feel better bud.

I still refuse to believe that The Question is dead.

Montoya is a decent character with a lot of potential. But The Question is not dead. NO. Not dead. Alive.:hope:

Leave it to Greg Rucka to sacrifice a already solid character only to replace him with his lesbian fantasy.

...well crap. I just find out the question is dead and replaced by Montoya...wasn't she like Batwoman already? This really blows, because of JLU I was really liking the Question! Arrrgh!

C'mon Dread hurry up and post your Runaways review! I want to see the 2000-word equivalent of a 6.5/10.

Whedon is the giver of the butt secks. That's my review for Runaways #25. I haven't even read it yet but have high hopes. High apple pie in the sky hopes.

So...like a 9.3? I would give butt sex a 9.3 on the sex scale. Higher than vaginal intercourse, lower than EDITED BY THE MODERATORS

EDITED BY THE MODERATORS can rate higher if done in the right lighting.

Supergirl was good, who knew?

JLA #7 was prob the best issue of the series so far, I enjoyed the Red Arrow part a lot.
