It's a bigger draw cause of the leads
And because of the comedy aspect. Comedy is probably the biggest seller at the box office right now (hence Wedding Crashers and Meet the Fockers) and if a movie combines action and comedy it appeals to the largest possible demographic, both male and female. Batman Begins still only appeals to a mostly male audience.
