Honestly, I haven't heard about that anime until I saw displays of that movie last year.

Honestly, I haven't heard about that anime until I saw displays of that movie last year.

Premise-wise...it is just a typical shonen anime story imo...but what makes it special and enganging for the mass-appeal, I think is the charismatic and fun characters that you can connect and relate to, simple yet engaging story that everyone can follow, good writing and high-octane action, and the out of this world level of animation.

But if you're not into anime...high chance the movie won't appeal much to you, though.

It is definitely huge here in Japan and in other neighbour Asian countries.
I'm sorry, if I remember correctly, you're from Phillipine (or Thailand?), right?,...well the show is very huge and super popular in both of those countries, as well as in Malaysia, S.Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
I watched the reels on IG and Tik-Tok of every premiere in each of those countries, and most of it feels like a cosplay party haha.

It is no doubt that Demon Slayer is up there with One Piece, Dragonball, The Fist of North Star, etc. as legendary anime for the impact it's had in making anime far more popular outside of Japan.
