Domestic Opening weekend $55 million. Total B.O. domestic $120 million. Given inflation and production costs, I'm not being pessimistic just realistic. It might do well overseas.

Realistic?

Hulk was boring, had a worse release date and made more than that not including inflation.

Those estimates are not realistic at all.

Realistic in terms of character recognizability. The People wh saw Hulk recognized the Hulk from the TV series more than the comics. Iron Man has nothing to fall back on except it being a hyped up summer movie.

I don't know...it doesn't seem like too many people know who Iron Man is. At least marketing will attract the kids and I assume Robert Downey Jr. will draw in some adults. I think it depends on the hype, at this point I think the general public sees comic movies as being exciting and will check them out.

120 million stateside, 280 million worldwide.

For the US, I'm just going to predict around the $150-200 million range.

I love Iron Man, but I don't think he's quite as well known or as popular as Spider-man or the X-men.

I think the marketing machine will have a big say over it ultimately. And then ultimately the movie itself. I see it doing better than Ghost Rider, Fantastic 4, and The Hulk but probably not the X-men and the Spider-man films.

How well the suit looks and feels on screen will make or break the audience reaction to this movie I think.

I'm going to call it as raking in about 140 -160 Domestically and Worldwide Id put it at around 250 - 300 mill.

Ironman is such a great character, it's a shame he isn't as recognizable as some of the A-Listers. Now I'm hearing they are considering killing off Tony Stark in the Civil War Story Arc.

I think that Ironman will be the next great line of Marvel films apart from the on going Spidey saga. I think it is safe to say that the X-Men and Spiderman have made a huge impact from the comic movies and more so for Marvel. I think Ironman will do just that. I didn't like the Hulk too much, and apparently not many others as well, yet it didn't do that bad in the box office. I do like the Fantastic Four but I don't think their as good as the X-Men or Spiderman, yet a third FF may be inevitable. I think Ironman is the next step for Marvel here, I believe that this film will be successful. I will acknowledge that he does not have that much to back up for, but that could be another reason for success, mystery on a "new" superhero. The kids of today I'm talkin little kids, aren't really gonna know the old Hulk tv show or the X-Men and Spiderman 90's show. So Ironman will be in the small field for them. However for the somewhat older fans, I myself was a kid in the 90's and you bet I loved X-Men and Spiderman, but all it takes is some marketing and I think Ironman will do just fine if not great in the box office. I think the movie will be killer, and through word of mouth, Ironman may be a huge hit.

how come it gonna be sick? i think it will box office i saw and read some information regarding the upcoming film..

60/175 in the us
150 overseaz

325 worldwide

About $200 million if it's as good as it looks like it will be...

What did the original Star Wars have to fall on?

What did The Matrix have to fall on?

What did Pirates have to fall on? (A damn disney ride)

If a summer blockbuster is really good, it will make a lot of money, whether it has a huge pre-established fanbase or not.

Yes, its possible...however very, very improbable...like 1000 to 1...none of those films had 2 huge sequels coming right up the ass.

What is very improbable?

I didn't give any exact numbers, I was only saying I think it's going to be very successful.

it is imporbable itll be a pirates, matrix, or star wars sized break out

Part of me also feels Iron Man has a change of getting better nos.than Ghost Rider and Fantastic 4.

170/75 dom. 160/65 international.

totat W.W. 330/340 mill. I'm low balling, for now.

what did Batman Begins do? Imo I can't see Iron Man outperforming Bat Man.

I'm going to say about $60-$70 million for the weekend. Factoring in the action fans + comic fans + Robert Downey Jr. Fans.

I think it'll get to around $150-$175 million before it falls off.

I don't see it getting much over $200 million total, domestically, if it even get close.
