Barely subtext tbh I find it funny how a decade ago he was being promoted as the next Brando meanwhile nowadays it seems that for him Venom is the pinnacle of what he wanted to do lol

Not gonna lie: I think that wacky **** makes him more Brando like than less. I wish he did more genuinely great movies as well but I admire that his main goal is clearly just having fun with it. Plus, Hardy as Venom is aside from Pattinson clearly the best and most interesting current leading performance in the CBM genre by a gigantic margin.

Anybody familiar with Hardy's amateur rapper antics before he was famous knew the real Tom from the start. :hehe:

I remember people posting his MySpace profile where he was in total f*** boi mode.

you know what name I haven't heard in while, that use to be a fan-cast/fan fav...
what ever happened to, Benjamin Walker...? (41, 6'2, decent built)

...has he done anything of note lately?

I don't really like his face. It feels waaay too soft in a way that I kinda think would fit a character like Superman or Shazam better (in fact he'd probably be perfect as Shazam tbh) but he was in that Rings of Power show so he's probably in casting director's radars. Don't really want him to get the role but if he nails an audition I could see him going as far as getting to the screentest stage.

Benjamin Walker can be really creepy and threatening. I agree his face is a bit soft but it doesn't really come off that way when he performs consistently. Amazing performance as Patrick Bateman in the criminally underrated stage version of American Psycho.

I mean, yes, when he first broke out as an actor, and he had heat on him, when he was being suggested for alot of these Hero roles (like 5-10 years)... I did think he was too young an soft looking then... but, now that he's aged up a bit (an once he gets into the training for the role) it wouldn't be as noticeable, I think

I really like Benjamin Walker. He has an "old Hollywood" look to him that I think would pair really well with Corenswet's Clark Kent.

I just can't get over the fact he'd look even softer than Corenswet which feels all types of wrong. I have seen his American Psycho performance and it's good but I do think it's a tad bit different to be performing on stage where by default the focus is not really on his face vs on film. He looks like a teddy bear to me, but I can see him getting far if he nails his audition. Maybe he'd pull off a good Batman voice too.

Personally, I think he'd be a great fit for what I'd like this Batman to be. He screams "Batdad," and he can bring both intensity and humor to the role. That's what I've always appreciated about Morrison's take on the character. His Batman had a self awareness to him that made him genuinely funny at times. Not to mention his overall dynamic with Damian. Seeing Walker play off a psychotic teenager would be a treat.

A few months in the gym and I think he wouldn't look quite so "soft."

I absolutely guarantee you that as a performer he would never, ever come off anywhere near as soft as Corenswet. They have complete opposite vibes. The soft face is just a pure superficial detail.

He was one of the highlights of Rings of Power too, despite very little screentime throughout. He's a charismatic guy.

He'd be a great choice. And frankly the fact that he may not be quite so orthodox in appearance makes him all the more appealing to me. He's got an interesting look.

I legit did not know he was in Rings of Power because no force on Earth could make me watch that show.

(Because it looks bad. Not because I'm a racist. Seems important to clarify when it comes to certain shows.)

RoP Is aggressively mediocre and as a Tolkien fanatic its lore-breaking is sacrilegious.

Elves are charismatic!

Well except for Orlando Bloom.

Funny thing is Lee Pace was also a Twilight vampire.

I am surprised by how overtly-racist the LOTR fandom turned out to be. It was even worse than Star Wars, and that's saying a lot. A bunch of comment threads read like a klan rally.
