Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

physically imposing how? He looks in TRAP at least as a normal looking sized man. Which is good. Physically imposing to me is the guy from REACHER, or Bautista before he pulled the plug on his steroids
I'm talking about the guy's height at 6'3 and the fact that Josh Hartnett ain't small .
He's closer to Ben Affleck's height .

He wasn't a yoked as Reacher ,but that's not what the role in Trap required anyway.

He would get a trainer for Brave and Bold if he were cast, but even so , I don't need Batman to be as big as Reacher, though I get there are fans who want that.

The DCU Batman will probably be someone who is 35-40 years old today that is not really on anyone’s radar. I think an older Corenswet type that has been in a few movies and shows that left an impression on studio heads. I bet in one of cast the DCU posts, someone got it right.

I gotta imagine the other Superman finalist Tom Brittney will be thought of for Bruce, who’s in a similar career bracket to Corenswet. And IMO he’s better suited for Bruce than Clark with his somewhat cold exterior (just like Cavill).

I know a lot of fans wouldn’t feel excited by such actors who don’t have the acting accolades or star power under their belt, but as shown with Corenswet, the audition process allows Gunn to see so much more of what the actors are capable of, and Brittney was a finalist after all.

The other name in the same vein of a Corenswet is Ethan Peck, who would be my pick. His Spock has shown that he can do the whole stoic intelligent emotionally stunted thing, and most importantly, making it work as comedy, which is key to the Bruce Damian dynamic.

Ethan Peck is an internet favorite and Tom Brittany is great example of what I am talking about. The best thing about Corenswet and one of the reasons the trailer worked for the general audience is that David is a complete unknown. You were looking for Superman and that is what we got. Not so called famous actor playing Supes. Hopefully the same will happen with Bats.

Ethan looks cold and would be perfect for the part. Tom...not so much. He was good in the last tom hanks movie, but not so much for bats...he looks like he would've made a half-decent pretty boy superman though.

Ethan would be perfect. Perfect age if he was cast.

He kind of has that crazy look that Keaton has. Intriguing, definitely more for Bruce than Joker.

Is he old enough to have a kid? I suppose if he was like 8 or so?

For me Talia is going to be the make or break casting

Sounds like he could be up for the Batman role in the DCU.

Never really considered Bill Skarsgard for Bruce Wayne/Batman, but he'd be one of those castings if it were to happen I'd be quietly open to.

I'd love Skarsgard for Bruce. He and Lee Pace are my top two choices, I also liked Skarsgard as Swamp Thing

He has a relationship with the director and seems to be on good terms with WB. Bill has star potential like David, Milly, and Aaron. Watching Gunn gushing about Batman this morning I think Gunn might be the director for the Batman introduction in a little movie called World’s Finest. I think Brave and the Bold will be on the back burner especially with the way Superman is being responded too.

in theory I could see where he might look good for the role on paper ( he'd be a passable Bruce, but, not perfect) but, other wise has height, built {or at least could bulk up if needed} I could see him in the comic hero gene in general there are probably characters he'd fit better... but, would work

I'd say his biggest flaw for this take on Batman is probably his age (as they seem to be aiming for a more seasoned Batman) he's still kinda young and looks every bit it

given that our "year 2" Bruce {aka Battinson} in The Batman will be nearly 40 by the time his next movie comes out... a more well established Batman should be older then him

:edit
if they really go all in on an older Batman (an established Bat Family) with like a 45-50 range

maybe he can be an grown up Nightwing

After Nosferatu, I don’t care how obvious of an option he is, I want to see him as Joker. Barry’s Joker really didn’t blow me away. I know it was just one scene but compare it to Heaths first scene… or Heaths interrogation scene…

Well, if you’re going by the logic of the best Batman actors being the ones who have the ability to play both Batman and the Joker, maybe Bill is a compelling option after all

Plus Bill will be pushing 40 by the time this gets off the ground anyway. I dunno, I’d be shocked if Gunn wasn’t looking at him.

Please no. Such an overrated actor with no charisma who only gets roles because of his family
