Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

I loved the first It.

It Part Two and The Flash are both decent, but flawed (the latter even more so, some technical aspects are especially baffling).

Muschietti did nail the characterization and portrayal of Michael Keaton's Batman, though.
Simply because Fukunaga didn't write the second one. Damn you WB. :argh:

Boo! Affleck is way more interesting than Sklenar or Powell! He’s only traditionally ‘good’ in BvS because it’s the only one where he’s excited to be there, but I think there is a real sorrow and depth to him that makes a lot of truly garbage Terrio writing almost work. Plus, he’s wonderful with Irons.

Affleck isn’t as good in the suit as out of it though. He got turbo****ed by that abominable voice changer - my least favourite live action Batman voice because of it.

Affleck is not “traditionally good” in ANY of his appearances as Batman -(IMO). Traditionally generic, maybe. People can mock Bale’s Batman voice all they want but going from the intensity and mood of the Nolan films to Affleck stumbling around like a doofus in BvS was a Lazenby-level downgrade. I personally didn’t find him good in or out of the suit. As “real”, Bruce, he just sulked and ranted a bit. And as Public Bruce, it’s like he copied Bale’s fake drunk scene in Batman Begins and just ran with that the whole time. Sure, Terrio’s crap writing made it all worse, but we have Affleck to thank for bring in his hack ass in.

She better than Sklenar? Honestly I haven’t seen enough of Skelnar yet to make any real judgment on him. I do feel there are much more interesting choices out there but maybe Skelar could surprise me if he’s cast I guess.

Sklenar seems more like a guy who would fit a smaller role. Booster Gold, Steve Trevor, someone like that. Batman needs a bigger presence. Now, I haven’t watched that Yellowstone show he’s on so many he really brings it there, I don’t know. But he seems more like a guy better suited to a secondary DC character.

How do people here feel about Matt Bomer? I haven't seen him in anything, but he seems to be at least worthy of consideration.

Also, how do we feel about Mr. Dua Lipa Callum Turner?

I haven’t seen him in much but I think he kinda has the right look. And he was cast as the lead in Neuromancer so you probably don’t get that role unless you can display some range. I need to watch Masters of the Air at some point.

He married Dua Lipa so no I hate him.

My only concern with Lee Pace is his age, I mean dude's gonna be nearly 50 when this movie finally starts filming. If he can still handle the physical demands of the task and they can keep him for more than 1 movie, then I'm all for it.
I don't think that would be too big of a deal given all the recent examples of middle aged actors still taking on action roles.

On a sidenote, the reaction from the people on the DCU subreddit if they were to cast an actor pushing 50 would be hilarious.

We’ve also had a gay Batman before (Kevin Conroy, largely seen as one of the best). I know there’s different circumstances but just something to think about.

Also I think a slightly older Batman is better than too young if he has a kid in this one

A classic completely mid dude. Totally unexceptional and uninteresting - you’d get nothing from him you wouldn’t get from every other comparable dude in his age range of which there are seven hundred.
Also - no I won’t let this go - he cannot enunciate!!! I demand he be sent to elocution lessons before he be fancast for anything ever again. Basic diction used to be a bare minimum requirement for acting, ffs. Damn you, mumblecore! :argh:

Watched Drop and still shook from when Snow told me that is the guy people want for Batman. In real life?!?!?!
