I like Hartnett a lot but not for Batman. I think I would much rather see him in a prominent villain role. He’s been suggested for Dent (in the Reeves films or maybe this) and I think he would be perfect for that. I’m generally not a fan of an older Batman anyway, but if you are going that route, Hartnett wouldn’t be a bad pick. But yeah, I don’t think he would want to do it, given how he turned down the role in the past. Of course, things change.

Yea Hartnett turned down Batman Begins, but he also said that was one of his bigger career regrets. I think he’d be open to the role hypothetically, but maybe not this incarnation. Like I just suspect he’d be more interested in a role in the Reevesverse if given a choice tbh.

Hell yeah dude! I’m still pissed that The Brothers Sun got canceled. Chein is awesome and he would CRUSH it as Richard Dragon. I hope Gunn picks him up for a DCU role.

And yes; I want Shiva too. My pick would be Ming-Na Wen for that role.

Hartnett doesn't really have the qualities I look for in Batman by and large but I wouldn't be mad at him.

Just started Masters of the Air and I’m sure he’s been suggested a lot but what are people’s thoughts on Austin Butler as a younger Batman? I personally would rather see him as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider but who knows if that Midnight Sons movie will ever happen. Anyway, I really enjoy Austin as a performer in most things and after Dune I could definitely picture him as Batman. Looking forward to Caught Stealing.

Out of the two leads in Masters of the Air, I’m leaning more towards Callum Turner as Batman but I could also see Austin. Pretty amazing show so far btw.

Circling back to Hartnett for a moment… watch Fight or Flight if you haven’t! It’s a ton of fun, and really great if you want to see him play a cool, charismatic action hero. I still don’t think he’s Batman but there are plenty of great DC characters he could fit.

Ritchson ...Reacher...GUNN said he likes him, and when asked he said "We will see what happens." He didn't say no...he didn't say yes, so its a possibility and a likely top five pic for one. The look and the detective brooding face. Lots of people can see it.

I'm more worried about Tom Holland for James Bond...total dross...

I like Ritchson and I can see some aspects of Batman in his Reacher character, but I would rather see him as a character like John Corben/Metallo. He would fit perfectly as the shady military version of that character, and he’s got the size and presence to make for a strong physical threat to Superman. They could even do the whole thing with him working under Sam Lane and pursuing Lois. I’m generally not a fan of the trope of the hero and villain fighting over the same love interest, but I think it kinda works in this case given that Sam Lane is a very toxic, misogynistic man and would view Clark (and even Superman) as inferior to a vicious guy like Corben. It also adds a real creep factor to Corben, which can help keep him from being TOO sympathetic as he loses what little is left of his humanity.

Some ideas I have for a Superman/Metallo film…

Gen. Sam Lane: Kevin Bacon. I also really Bruce Greenwood for this character, though Gunn and Bacon always make magic together.

Dr. Emmett Vale: Sterling K Brown

Professor Emil Hamilton: Peter Dinklage

Parasite/Rudy Jones: Bryan Tyree Henry, John Carroll Lynch

Alan Ritchson has a ton of charisma and has come a long way as an actor. I don’t like Hawk as a character but he was the most interesting and charismatic actor on that whole Titans show.

Would rather he play Aquaman though. But I do think he could look good in the Batsuit with his physique. But tbh looking back, Affleck looked way too bulky. I think I like a slimmer Batsuit and Ritchson wouldn’t be that guy
