This sounds like a most famous list, not a scariest list.

I'm looking at the titles at wikipedia and some are not scary they are more like thrillers what "the heck"

Exorcist
Prince of Darkness
Exorcist III
The Thing

(my top 4)

Here's mine weither it was on there or not.

1 Silence oF The Lambs.
2 Friday The 13th.
3 Jeepers Creepers.
4 The Shining.

5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
4. The Thing (1982)
3. The Hills Have Eyes (either one)
2. Alien
1. The Exorcist

Where the hell are any of the Saw movies in that list

I'd assume it was made before the Saw franchise. The sequel show called "Even Scarier Movie Moments" has the two Saw films on the list. Scariest Movie Moments came out right when the first Saw was coming out in 2004. So thats probably why it's not on there.

Jaws??? WTF! that aint even Horror, saw a better list on tv the other night, Alien was top on that

The fact that Wizard of Oz is in that kind of kill the list. I mean, the friggin Wizard of OZ ?? Bwahaha.

But I like the top 5. I don't agree, but it's good to see them recognize jaws. Damn, how many movies can say they scare a whole generation to even go to the beach ?

I see a poster above asking what's scary about jaws. I'd say being eaten alive by a 4 meters shark is quite brutal, heh.

And, along with the shower scene in Psycho, the intro of jaws with the girl being eaten alive in the ocean is probably the most copied scene in horror cinema, heh. (from tremors to shark attack 3)

I've watched that show on Bravo ever year now since it premiered in 2004.

The "Even Scarier Moments" has Hostel listed as #1...which is MUCH worthier than Jaws.

I'm guessing that was a joke (what are the chances that people would put Hostel above Jaws, shining, and well, everyting ?).

And I hope to god you were doing some sarcasm here. ;)

It's "scary moments" not "scary movies". It's describing particular scenes from particular movies as being scary moments, such as when the headless zombie rapes the girl in Re-Animator. For example, Rosemary's Baby is not scary, it's creepy...only the rape scene made the list.

I can guarentee you the opening of Jaws scared more people than any scenes in Hostel could ever do. That is a fact. The opening alone had the second biggest impact on horror movie all by itself. I don't understand the reasoning to put Jaws at first in it's "scariest movie of all time" (which really, is mainly there because of the intro's success) and then forget about it in their best moments.

Scary logic there, brrr.

The Dead Zone is certianly not a scary movie.

It's a scary situation to be in, though. But really, it's a far better choice to put in that list than Wizard of Oz, heh.

Yeah, I get what you are saying, but it does not come off as a horror movie IMO. Don't get me wrong, its a great movie, I own it. I also own the book and all 4 seasons of the show. It just doen't belong on this list like alot of the other choices.

Oh, I agree with you, mind you. I was just laughing at the list.

But that IS the scariest movie MOMENTS list. They are only mentioning the opening scene.

It is not a joke. Just check out " 30 Even Scarier Movie Moments" on Bravo.

However, the "Hostel more wothier than Jaws" was a personal joke of mine.

But Hostel did get #1 on "Even Scarier".

CAH

Hostel was scary and freakin' intense.

But then I saw TCM: The Beginning, and that upped the ante.

I'm sure Hostel: Part Two will up it even more.
