Thats really dumb...

So we can't release pictures of a dead Bin Laden but we can tell our enemies that we have their locations in sights so they have time to move.

It takes a special someone to turn gold to turd.

- do not release photo out of wussy political correctness
- gives OBL a proper burial out of wussy political correctness (even when they hate you regardless), and nevermind what he has done
- the administration provides glamorized reports only to contradict it (situation room)
- announce to all Al Qa'eda leaders they know where you are

My god I couldn't make this **** up.

I think the Goverment has a reason for letting that news leak. I dont know why, but the goverment isn't that stupid. They have to have a reason for that.

Being a good person doesn't mean being a whuss. And I'm sure the last point was only released because they already know the Al Qaeda leaders are moving - think about how they just spent two years tracking down Osama, why would they give away the remainder of their lead?

CBS News is reporting that some of the information recovered in the raid that killed Bin Laden contains areas where other Al-Qaeda leaders may be hiding.

It could be a stalking horse tactic. You tell a room of suspects that you know who is sitting on a stolen wallet, and watch who shifts in his seat.

See Pink Ranger's logic I can sorta buy.

But Obama being nice? No, he is a PC wimp.

WTF? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY WOULD YOU (our government) LET ANYONE KNOW THAT THEY HAD THAT INFORMATION....good lord.
That has to be speculation on CBSs part...ugh.

Yes, protecting American lives, particularly American troops, by not giving al-Qaeda a recruiting tool and a martyrdom rallying cry is sure wussy.

No comment on your other points, I will admit.

Yes killing OBL, isn't going to anger them at all into furious rage. Giving him an Islamic burial is a wimpy move.

If you want to talk about protecting American lives, you go the opposite end. Bury him in a pile of pig corpses. Now that is a real deterrent. Every single terrorist that even tries will know there will be prospects of a pig burial; they don't get to go to paradise. And this has been done before in history and has work. Hell the Russians have done it.

It's actually a pretty weak reaction worldwide from what I've seen....

Other than Pakistan....not much else.

That is such bull ****....good grief.
Actually it's not... That's all I'll say, because I don't want to risk getting banned from the Hype as a whole because I was too stupid to stop reading this thread which averages a facepalm a minute.

The only amateur move Obama has made is publicly wondering whether they should release pictures or not. Had he not mentioned, nobody would have cared. But since he mentioned it, he should release them. That was poorly handled.

That Yemen drone strike targeted Al-Awlaki, a US-Yemen dual citizen and the leader of Al Qaeda on the Arab Peninsula. He is probably more of a threat than Al-Zawahiri right now, and with OBL dead he might be the largest threat out there. Unfortunately we missed. We probably won't get a second chance for a while. It sucks, but it made me think how much it would have sucked if Team-6 had gone into OBL's mansion and he had already fled. Kinda gives me a shudder.

USA USA USA!!!!!

I was in DC this past weekend when all of this all took place. Had I still been there when the crowds were rushing the White House in celebration on sunday night, I probably would have been celebrating with them. Osama Bin Laden unleashed unspeakable horrors on this country. There was (and still is) a sense of pride for our country in knowing that we FINALLY got him after ten long years.

Ahhh print screen.................got Marx defending George Wbbah.......check.

:argh:

The good thing about that is we did take out two of his employees, so maybe it will disrupt his operation. At the very least it will scare the crap out of him and get him moving instead of planning things in one place.

Then please, show us some examples of where you think this.....

How poorly the whole regwec thing was handled by mods here for a start...

The guy was cleary baited into his comments and then basically exiled, and he wasn't the first person here to be made to feel that their presence was unwelcome.

Wtf...

There's a slideshow on Yahoo of OBL mourners praying and protesting outside the US embassy in London. I could understand this happening in Pakistan, but the UK? They really need to kick these bastards out of the country.

Well, actually that had nothing to do with his opinion....so that is kinda weak evidence.

If you want to say, hey Kel you handled that poorly, fine go ahead....but don't play it as a Far Right desire to take over the thread....because it has nothing to do with that....

If all you are in here to do is gripe about the regwec thing, then I would probably just PM an admin. and complain in that manner because here is not the place.

Any other examples....and I'm being serious, I would like to see what you think is the slant of this thread...

The only things that could be considered 'facepalm worthy' are the comments by some who believe Bin Laden should have been shown more respect and compassion...and those who sought to condemn those who celebrated the death of a man who committed the worst terrorist attack on american soil in history.
