Just about every continent would benefit from a union.

It's arrogant to think isolationism will give you more reach, opportunity and collective bargaining power.

It's like Texas seceding and finally realizing the benefits of a United States.

I like democracy but the "google Europen Union" crowd shouldn't have decided this.

Who are the google european union crowd? School kids? Non voters seeing what the fuss is about? Remain voters? Or does it have to be leave voters because they are all old or stupid?

If Scotland were to break off, would they still recognize Queen Elizabeth as their head of state?
They would keep Queen Elizabeth as their head of state. That is what they said during the referendum anyway and there isn't really a strong movement in Scotland to see her removed as head of state.

Germany leaving would pretty much gut the EU, right?

Germany leaving would probably kill the EU. Germany is one of the largest economies in the EU and is propping up the southern European countries that have had financial difficult in recent years.

I don't think the far right parties in Germany have enough power to get a referendum on the EU yet.

Probably people from all categories.

No single group has a monopoly on uninformed members.

I would actually like to see Texas leave the union. In a year or less Texans will be immigrating (probably illegally) to the united states and Texas politicians will be begging to reenter the union.

If Texas left it would lose Federal funding and federal help. No FBI. No DOD. No National Guard. No Coast Guard. No EPA. No military. Etc. Texans would no longer be protected by the US Constitution. And the Cartel would probably immediately start making Texas its *****. But if thats what Texas wants more power to em.:hehe:

Not to mention little help for the disabled, veterans, seniors, the working poor, the jobless, corporatiins that use subsidies, etc then you have the insane amount of money they'd need for effective boarder security.

I don't see how they maintain a safe and stable environment without increasing state taxes a great deal.

The google EU crowd are young potential Vote Remainers with little political awareness who either voted Leave without realising what it meant or didn't vote at all (again without realising what a Vote Leave might mean). The older crowd are much more aware of the EU and what they think the vote means for them.

I'm guessing people have seen this meme already? If not, I'll leave it here:

But who would've thought Germany might be the ones wanting to leave next?

Texit?

Florida = Flexit?

So derivative. We can do better.

Texit is not going to happen, at least not according to Governor Greg Abbott, who's less insane than Rick Perry.

Abbott is nothing more than a figure head. Now the Lt. Governor that's where the real power is.

Ewan McGregor's angry tweet about Boris Johnson made me laugh

The best thing about his speech is the guy on the right. Don't know if it's visible in that video but he facepalms hard then tries to cover his face for quite a while, thinks he's ok then starts laughing and covers his face again.

He was probably facepalming over Farage ignorant comment about not having worked a 'proper job'.

Apparently being a cardiovascular surgeon, army officer, founding a computer company, ect isn't a proper job

So an xenophobic nationalist believes in irrational stereotypes?

I don't believe it. :o

Especially hypocritical considering he had privileged wealthy upbringing and got a job straight out of high school as a commodities trader thanks to UK's private school 'old boys network'.

How do you know that? They could have been remain voters who followed the cameron, labour, lib dem party line. They might not have been eligible to vote.

There has been a massive arrogance amoung a section of the middle classes over the last 10-15 years, looking down at the working class as stupid, lazy or xenephobic. They have ignored the problems that have arrisen from mass immigration. That is why we have seen voting numbers in the referendum from council estates go from 30% to 80%. Their standard of living has dropped significantly no matter how much the economy has grown. So they don't care if the economy goes to hell, because it's not going to get worse. 100k children in the uk homeless. 64k families moved out of london to different parts of the country. Social networks broken up and destroyed. For what? Cheap labour that has suppressed wages, pushed up house prices and rents and made the 0.1% that much richer.

We've had enough.

Err I think you misunderstood the term then. It was made for those who regretted their Leave vote, googling EU after the result in worry. It wouldn't be relevant the other way round because Leave won. If you voted Remain by mistake it wouldn't matter as you didn't help make anything happen that you didn't intend.

Not to mention being a politician is a "proper job", whatever Farage may think of it. Politicians don't do nothing all day. If they did, the countries they run would completely implode.

Apparently now Germany are possibly wanting to leave the EU as well, potentially sparking a Dexit (Deutscheland Exit). It's supposed to be Merkel's worst nightmare. I don't know how accurate the article is though, because it's from the Daily Express:

http://www.express.co.uk/news/world...dum-Dexit-Brexit-Angela-Merkel-european-union
Haha. Nope. Germans aren't allowed to vote on anything. The only way for Germans to have a say in politics would be via revolution, preferably bloody. There is no way to overturn the current government (which will always be the same parties in coalitions) so the only way to have a say would be through violently removing the politicians.

That's another load of crap. Just like the petition that had a billion votes an hour that was actually done by a 4chan bot. Everyone had reasons for the way they voted. A few might have changed their mind afterwards but it was nowhere near enough to change the result.

And how do you know that?

Britain left, and the price of Italian cakes I love rose significantly.
I hope they recover from that.

How are prices in other EU countries now?

I doubt that Dan "Not the former ESPN Guy" Patrick is interested in Texit either.

Texit is not going to happen under any Governor or Lt. Governor. There is a small minority of people crying about that and they live mostly in West Texas around the Davis Mountains. The whole Texit thing is silly.

Republican Party wouldn't let Texas secede. They would never win another presidential election if they lose Texas.

Well, if people keep moving from the Northeast down here, and Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio...ALL DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES keep growing at the rate they are growing, it may not matter. :)
