Bring back MX, (Muhammad X)

Why, pray tell then, Aristotle, what is so incredibly revolutionary about MX's stance? I agree that Varient's stance on the character could be quite a radical turn, but as he's been established, he's a pretty close-minded character, even if I understand why he is so.
I don't think Varient's stance on the character is particularly radical at all, politically speaking. And I don't think MX is closed-minded at all. I think he's right.

Why can't an opinionated Black man get a reality check and get out and see the world?
Because his opinions are right. He already sees reality a lot better than Superman seems to.

I was think a little more about this, and I wonder what would happen if you had a white Superhero who went out of his way to protect Black neighborhoods. Would such a character be regarded with suspicion, gratitude, or a little of both?
Both, and rightfully so, I think.

Thats a thought.

I'm going to dig that comic out at the store and look at it again.

Meh, he's dead. Just do more with Onyx and you wont even miss him.

Was Onyx black? I could never tell based on how the artists drew her.

Onyx should've taken his costume. What was her costume again? A black t-shirt and pants?

I remember thinking Onyx looked hot in her Who's Who entry way back in the 80's. Long flowing curly black hair, samurai armor, wicked katana. Her modernization? Not hot at all. And, yes, Corp; she is black.

Don't judge me. The artists made her very light-skinned and didn't give her any obviously black features. :(

Along with Muhammad X, the other heroes mentioned in the issue need to finally make an appearance.

Superman #179...the only book Muhammad X has appeared in.

I think I'm going to pull a scan up on this guy in this one appearance.

The scary part?

Here you have a guy showing all kinds of Power right under Superman's nose in his city,... but because of the negative impact involved DC doesn't have the JLA keep one eye on him,...
He's just "forgotten"

I hate good ideas going to waste. You'd think the New Steel would've run into him esp now that she has her Infinity Inc Powers.

Or Jimmy Olsen,.. or the current Guardian,...

Meh.

Muhammad X is the name of a fictional character in the DC Comics universe.

His real name is unknown, but he first appeared in Superman v2, #179 (August 2002). He was created by writers Jeph Loeb & Geoff Johns, and penciler Ariel Olivetti.

Fictional character biography
Muhammad X is the self-proclaimed protector of Harlem NY, using his ability to alter density and gravity to protect the community. Bullets can't hurt him either. When Superman runs into him, Muhammad browbeats him, accusing him of ignoring Harlem and, in essence, the black community. This causes the Man of Steel to question his understanding of race relations and leads to his seeking advice from his supporting cast/colleagues such as Lois Lane and Natasha Irons.

Natasha names a few black superheroes Superman has never heard of, but are apparently well known in the black community, such as Rush & Silence, Stoneyard and Underground. Indeed the heroes named here have yet to appear in any DC Universe comic.

The issue concludes with Superman confronting X a second time, telling X "...I can't change the color of my skin... what I try to do is something far more difficult... to be a human being. And hopefully, someday, we'll see each other only in that way." Superman flies off, to which Muhammad replies to himself "Yeah, well... I guess that's how you sleep at night."

Powers
Muhammad X appears to be able to alter the specific density and gravity of himself and others without causing any apparent harm. Could apparently make himself intangible or immovable, and make others super heavy.
Since specific density is actually specific gravity, it appears that his powers are all gravity related.

With the introduction of Star MAN To the JSA,... I really think it would be a great idea to introduce MX to the Larger DC Universe.

Yo bring this dude back, he would be ill in the Outsiders.
