I think we all need to discuss the music of TDK more. We're kind of ignoring it because of the other crap that's going on. The Joker needs to have his own theme music. Any ideas?

The fact that Joker is thrown into this mix, tells me that the score will be completely different than BB's. I'm under the impression that some people think that this movie's music will just be a rehash from the first one, and I totally disagree. The first one had the Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Shadows, and therefore they all had their own "themes". However, this new movie won't have ANY of them, so therefore, we don't need "their music."

However, if I had to make one suggestion, it's this: Keep that flute music that plays toward the end, when Ra's (Neeson) is explaining his plan to Bruce inside Wayne Manor before he burns his house down. That music can be heard on Track 12 of the soundtrack CD. That flute is so freakin' haunting, it gives me chills... goosebumps... it makes me literally afraid, to an extent. It's some of the best movie music I've ever heard.

As for the Joker, my guess is... there will be alot of "clown-type" music.. maybe like one of those Jack-in-the-Box things that play little-kiddy nursery rhyme stuff. I ALSO think that they'll use that "childish theme" to make HORROR music. I see the Joker's theme being very immature and clownish, but at the same time, it makes you want to scream with fear.
Just my opinion.

Thoughts?

Hans Zimmer did say a little while back that Batman gets his theme in this one, which was missing in Begins. Essentially, that Batman has earned his theme. Can't wait to hear how that sounds.

(...and no, I don't think We've run this joke into the ground yet) :oldrazz:

Honestly I do not think the Joker will have "clown music" I think there may be small hints of such stuff but doubtful. Joker is a sadistic loon. Not a funny prankster. This is not the old Joker they are doing here, it is the dark twisted one.

I think the music will be very dark just like BB, some of the music of the Scarecrow, but with it's own twist would be good for the Joker's theme.

This doesn't make any sense.

Joker is the main villain this time. Ra's and Crane are not. Therefore, a new villain theme needs to be written... and since The Joker is in a huge chunk of this film, moreso than Ra's or Crane, ALOT of the music will obviously be different. :word:

That was Ra's theme and yes, I agree, it was bone-chillingly awesome. But considering the fact that Ra's won't be in TDK, there would be no purpose in bringing that music back again.

I trust the guys with this score, so i'm happy as long as theres no "inspired by soundtrack" featuring todays worst angst-rock bands.

Yep.

They also said you hear that theme at the end of BB, though I am not sure where. I haven't watched the movie in a while.

I'm pretty damn sure the theme is the music that was in the final 20 or so seconds of the 10-minute Smallville preview before BB was released. It was not in the film but it sounded very much like a theme and seemed as if it was written specifically for the movie.

The theme is definitely there in Begins, but it starts almost 7 minutes into the end credits music. We hear variations of it during the Molussus (or more specifically, the Batmobile chase) track and it's almost the very same music in the Smallville preview that I was talking about in my last post.

Now THAT is useful information.

Well the Joker's music should be the perfect mix of Irish Bagpipes with steel drums. :)

...and maybe a little triangle here and there.

Is that the music they used in the King Kong trailer?

But I love the "bahhhhhhhhh bummmmmmmm, bahhhhhhhhhh bummmmmmm." That kicks ass! I mean sure it's nothing compared to Burton Batman theme, but it had enough life and mood to it to make it a powerful orchestral piece.
