Fair. I completely understand involving the artist or the family when doing their life story to a point.

But yeah, there definitely needs to be a certain separation once filming is underway so that it’s not so sanitized and lacks any actual depth.

Then again, Madonna directing her own biopic might be worth it just for the laughs.

I have no clue who Robbie Williams is and when I saw the thread I mistakenly thought it said Robin Williams.

The sooner Better Man comes out and makes $30 at the US box office this weekend and leaves, the sooner we won't have to make that mistake again.

I'm still waiting for the Robin Williams one, but the casting is going to be crucial and I hope Zelda and the family allow them to do an honest portrayal.

Right now the closest thing to a Robin Williams biopic is this test footage that made the rounds on the internet a few years ago.



The actor who plays him, Jamie Costa does a really good job at conveying Robin.

I have no clue who Robbie Williams is and when I saw the thread I mistakenly thought it said Robin Williams.

I was exposed to British music growing up, so I know Robbie Williams. I don't know much about his time on the group Take That, but I knew a lot from British pop music acts in the early 2000s because music channels/record stores had them a lot, despite me not living in Europe/UK. He had a single with Kylie Minogue (kids, which I always hear in GTA V) and Nicole Kidman.

Britney's been through some ****. There's definitely more box office potential in this than a Robbie Williams movie in any case.

Britney's a superstar so this should do well at the box office, if the movie is good.

That being said, I can't recall anyone below 50 that had a biopic theaterical film,and I can name few films for singers that had those films. The biopic movie for Madonna didn't progress well.

Those movies are about fictional characters that no one cares about.

As a Britney fan, I haven't seen Crossroads yet. But we'll see if it does well. I also haven't read the Woman in Me book yet so I don't know if its a good book to be adapted for a movie.

8 Mile is the only one that comes to mind because it's close enough to Eminem's actual life and it came out when he was 30. Maybe also Get Rich or Die Tryin' but I haven't seen it so I don't know how close that is to 50 Cent's actual life.

I was also gonna say that Pharrell Lego biopic that came out a few months back counts but I looked it up and that dude is 51 (!!!).

Chris Diamantopoulos did a decent Williams {Mork} in a, "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of 'Mork & Mindy' " (2005), too....
