Anyone else love the Broken Sword games? The first is one of my favourite games ever.

Anyway, does anyone know why we're not getting the latest version?

First episode of Broken Sword 5 pointing and clicking on December 4

The first episode of Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse will launch on December 4, developer Revolution Software announced. The point-and-click adventure will arrive on PC, Mac and Linux first with Android and iOS versions following "soon after," though no release date for the mobile games has been set. The game will also come to Vita later this year.

Revolution Software earned $771,561 on Kickstarter in September 2012 to fund the next entry in the adventure series, which began in 1996. Broken Sword 5 is split into two episodes, each episode being "a full sized game in its own right," the developer writes. The second episode is due out in January 2014.

Broken Sword 3 is my favorite. It ties in with the story of the first game. People didn't like it because they moved away from point-and-click style and gave you direct control over your character and it was polygons not 2D art. It had some traditional stealth gameplay as well. But I liked it a lot.

Is the new one coming to a Sony platform? Just Vita?

Looking forward to The Serpent's Curse.

Broken Sword 5 interview: Charles Cecil on Gnostic Gospels, conspiracies and religion

at 06:15 on 04 December 2013
"Himmler sent a load of archaeologists to try and find the Holy Grail in the castle and clearly they failed - or we assume they failed."

Broken Sword creator Charles Cecil and I are talking about the research that went into the latest instalment, Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse. There is a chance we were supposed to be talking about polygons and game mechanics in the Kickstarter-funded project but the interview ended up addressing the nature of personal belief and truth as they relate to Cecil's latest adventure.

The Serpent’s Curse begins with a murder and the theft of a painting by a pizza delivery man. In attempting to unravel the mystery, series heroes George and Nico must pick through a conspiracy involving the Catholic church and Gnosticism. Take into account the art gallery murders, Catholicism, apocryphal literature and you'd be forgiven for thinking, "So, it's like the Da Vinci Code, then." But Cecil, amongst other things, worked as a consultant on the Da Vinci Code video game having researched the subject.

Shouldn't this be in the misc game section. After all, it's not a Sony exclusive.

The reason it's here is cause the original poster / creator who isn't me put it here and was talking about the old games of the same name prior to this upcoming one.

That being said while it should be misc due to the new game coming out due to kick starter. It's mostlikely to be played on sony device by potential people here out of any of the other stuff it will be available on. (that's why even I didn't bother to ask to have it moved ,yet)

But you can ask the mods to please move it to misc game section, if you like. I'm just updating this on the detail of the upcoming game in case any ones interested.

So I finished Part 1. I enjoyed it thought it really picked up in the second half. The pacing is pretty slow, and I like my slow burns. Strange.

Or maybe I'm spoiled by Telltale Games, with The Walking Dead and Fables.

Finally got around to playing Broken Sword 5. I love these games. I'm used to the slower pace. 5 is back to point-and-click adventure style with beautiful artwork and animation.

This thread should be in the misc. section as it's multiplatform...

A robbery – a murder – and the beginning of another epic original Broken Sword adventure.
An adventure that will hurl intrepid lawyer George Stobbart and sassy journalist Nico Collard onto the trail of a murderous conspiracy forged in the cauldron of war-torn Europe. A conspiracy whose roots lie in mysteries older than the written word.
