Messiah, like what some here are saying, by all means, these criminals are not good people and that's a given. But some do have a certain code or ethics that the good citizens of the world will never understand. Come on, we've seen so many movies about the 'code' that it should be ingrained into our nerd brains by now, fictional or not.

That's a part of me won't give them too much credit for this, but it does show there's still some humility in them.

I was familiar with this code. I knew that pedophiles were a prime target in any prison system.

It just seems weird they feel protective of children while preying on the weak in every other instance.

That's true. If we allow the police to sanction burglars to do this kind of thing, then you're creating conditions where the police can basically create a militia of citizen stormtroopers to do all the things they can't do because it's illegal.

When someone's been abused like that for so long they usually hide it from embarassment or from fear of retribution or not being believed.

Especially when it comes to males who are subjected to their own social expectations. To be abused is to be weak, to be weak means you're not a man and to not be a man is insulting to their masculinity.

Abusers generally prey on weak victims. The victims aren't usually the type to fight back, so they're easily controlled and easily manipulated via shame and fear.

The sick bastard who got robbed was still using that camera to film his rapes so it's likely that the film was in it when it was stolen. Maybe the burglar grabbed a couple of other reels, too. When I read that it was a Super 8 camera I assumed that the tapes would be decades old but the victims are still children. He could have been raping boys for years and using the same camera to create his demented mementos.

This story proves that everybody hates pedophiles.
