C. Nolan's Interstellar

Jesse Eisenberg is nothing like Kristen Stewart. That comparison doesn't make any sense.

my DP choice would be Steve Yedlin ( Looper ) .. he´s free too, rian johnson is writing atm and carrie is in post..

i really like to see roger deakins be the DOP for interstellar.

just imagine all the eye-melting shots that he and nolan could pull off.

Deakins doing 'Prisoners' but he'd be free after that (release date is Sep).

I always thought that Elswit would be his choice , especially now that he has the Imax experience under his belt. Wally addressed that it took him a while to adapt to Imax , and if he Nolan wants to shoot again in Imax (in the press article they talk about the Imax , not necessarily as native) then it probably helps that he that experience.

Deakins , i think his post-work flow is a little bit different than what Nolan says he usually prefers.

There are so many talented cinematographers. A director of his caliber , and with the budget he works...every dp would love to have that chance.

I would like Dariusz Wolski to work with Nolan. He might bring a slight romantic/softer look to his work.

Or even Brunno Delbonnel...

Has this been discussed yet? Which 80's washed up actor will Nolan cast in this film? To join the likes of Rutger Hauer, Eric Roberts, Tom Berenger and Private Joker.

Plus roger has been shooting digitally lately and I dont think nolan would ever go there. Unless roger is willing to go back but I dont see why he would since its letting him work easier while keeping his awesome visuals (not just Skyfall but In Time looks really good too)

You forgot Anthony Michael Hall...

My short order would be;

Matthew Broderick
Peter Scolari
John Cusack
Molly Ringwald
David Hasselhoff

Michael C Hall's first acting role was in 2003 and he's never been in a Nolan film.

John Cusack never left. Hell no to Hasselhoff and Broderick.

Kurt Russell would be cool. Also if he could somehow get the dp who does Chan Wook Park's films (Oldboy,Stoker) that would be amazing but unlikely.

Please let it be Claudio Miranda. Keeping my fingers crossed here.

Claudio Miranda has switched over to digital (he started with Benjamin Button). No way is Nolan going to work with him unless he does 35mm again.

And judging by the production schedule, it's possible Pfister could juggle post-production on Transcendance and shoot Interstellar. Probably not, depending on filming locations and such.

Did anyone suggest Mandy Walker (Australia), Donald McAlpine (Peter Pan) or Eduardo Serra (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)? Those DPs do incredible work too.

I'm aware but that doesn't mean he can't just go back to 35mm again. I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with it seeing as he'd be working under Nolan.

Pfister said he's done doing DP work. He's strictly concentrating on his work as a director.

I thought Pfister said studios were no longer supplying any type of film within a few months? He brought it up when talking about hiring a DP for Transcendence.

I'll try to find the interview.

EDIT: Here it is:

I was a bit off, though. He says does mention that the film stock may not be available, but primarily that processing labs are dialing down when it comes to dealing with film.

yeah i read that too... i dont get why this billion dollar industry not just builds a small factory for film, where they develop it too.. like with Long-Playing records.. that stuff also still gets made.. why not with film.

Nolan is still pretty adamant about shooting in film. I guess we'll see what happens. I would be very surprised if he goes the digital route after all the campaigning he's done for film.

I understand, but the problem is, it simply may not be possible if studios no longer supply it and labs no longer process it. He knows he's been fighting an uphill battle for a long time, I'm sure he's at least considered it.
