C. Nolan's Interstellar

I think when an actor is known for a running gag or something it overshadows their work. He's know for being kind of the laid back Texan surfer dude in a bunch of Kate Hudson movies moreso than his indie stuff.

Eh, I wasn't a fan of Leo before Inception and, although he was just fine as Cobb, I'm still not a fan. He's a decent actor but too studied for my taste/over thinks every move he makes on camera. He's a technically profeicent actor though so I'm not going to bash him after suffering through bad actors like Sam Worthington and Taylor Kitsch.

Matthew McConaughey is not a favorite of mine either but he can act when he's not doing those vapid rom coms. If he is the lead, I won't be excited nor will I be pissed off. I'm sure he will do just fine.

I'm sure there will be people coming out and pretending that they loved him all along and I will role my eyes at the disingenuous nature of fanboys. And that opinion does not include people who genuinely grew to like him over the years.

Matthew has been fantastic in these smaller films hes been doing lately so i definitely am behind this decision.

... You guys are seriously falling for an early April Fools prank?

Websites like to do this all the time. They post it a few days before April 1st so every website can pick it up and run with it... only for the source of the prank to admit it was a prank on April 1st.

Really? Matthew McConaughey? In a Nolan film? :oldrazz:

I'll happily eat crow if I'm wrong... but... I know a prank when I see one and...

It's out of the box for Nolan, but I'm curious to what he's coming up with.

Also it's funny how we were all discussing casting choices and mentioned almost every big name actor (joking or no joking) except for McConaughey. :funny:

Deadline is a reputable source though. They don't report jokes.

It would be a prank if the actor perpetually sucked in everything he was in.

If I only had a dollar for every time Rocketman said he would eat crow, and then never did....

You're always wrong. I always wonder why you always come up with the least likely answers.

Also, the main source is Deadline, a site that's very reputable and doesn't really do April Fools Pranks.

Even though left field, it's not crazy enough to be a prank. You act like McConaughey is Taylor Lautner or something.

Great choice if it pans out.

I'm still waiting for that version of TDKR that his sources told him to come out. :awesome:

Now we await the Channing Tatum announcement as well.

Totally down for this choice. If this is true there's no way he'll turn it down :woot:

McConaughey has been awesome in literally every film he has been in for the past couple of years. He was great in Killer Joe and Bernie..and i had a chance to see a screening of Mud which comes out laer this year and he was bloody terrific. This is a great choice

Matthew McConaughey in the lead role? Ok, now I am actually interested in this film.

It's so unusual I am really interested. Hell, I'm glad Nolan is going with someone like him.
