Or he could have just done it because it's the way he felt he could best tell the story, but that's just a crazy notion.
Not to mention in addition to The Dark Knight, Inception, Insomnia and The Dark Knight Rises are mostly straightforward. I don't count having a few flashbacks as being nonlinear.
Do all nolan discussion get people this riled up?
Anyways, I didn't say it was just a matter of his non linear plotting.
I actually commend his decision to tell stories in no basic ways. I inferred that he seems to shy away from telling stories without some form/element/level of "complicated" in his/their delivery
This may be seen as an effort to hide deficiency.
A clear simple well told story vs a story told with bells and whistles and I'm inclined to think the academy will probably reward the ones with less plot holes.
