Cable Cord Cutters Thread: Sling, Hulu, YouTube TV, Netflix, and more!

If you mean a contract; meaning I can’t cancel without paying a charge, I don’t have one of those.
I meant them getting into contract/licensing disputes and dropping stations you like. That happens everywhere, whether you're using cable, dish or streaming, and very much started in the dish/cable days. If it hasn't happened to you yet, and you haven't gotten screwed over with charges/contracts/bad service, you're one of those rare lucky unicorns who doesn't have reason to hate your cable company. So congrats, savor that. It is exceedingly rare, and I've yet to meet one of you in person.

I still pay less than you, though. :p

Few have met my like in person. Most are lucky.

The worst thing that has happened is losing Sinclair Sports stations. Luckily I'm not one of those people. :hehe: YTTV dragging their heels on those promised Viacom channels still bothers me. They gave an actual date on WGN America coming in January. But I see they're fishing surveys for future channels like A&E and Hallmark channels.

I did customize the guide a bit I grouped them by 6 categories: locals, kids, entertainment, sports, news, and international. Each are of course alphabetized. I just can't stand how Sling and YTTV randomly arrange their channels.

So Sling has a new promotion where you get a free Tivo Stream when you subscribe. Tivo Stream allows you to aggregate your live TV sources under one guide (Tivo account required), so you can combine your Sling and Locast guides in one.

I'm looking at AT&T TV Now and their basic package for $55 a month looks so reasonable compared to the competition right now.

Wow your subscription had to start from before June 1, 2018 to be eligible. I guess I’m out.

Welcome to the "free market". That means when someone raises prices, everyone else gets to follow. Of course I'm sure they are all acting independently and not working in concert to separate you from your money. :o

Socialist. :o

You're just saying that because I think we should have single payer healthcare, have a national power grid, transportation system, water production/distribution system, and large scale nationalized agriculture on public lands.

Oh yeah......cheap TV/movie packages too.

I've finally pulled the plug on cable (Sky)! Really weird feeling as I've had it all my life but it's crazy overpriced for what I actually use. Sport and focused TV packages I can get through different subscriptions like Now TV (and BT Sport which I already have) and the total bill of streaming will be much cheaper without hundreds of channels I don't need. The lineup will be Disney +, Netflix, Amazon Prime and likely HBO Max when an app becomes available in the UK.

Congrats! Welcome to Freedom. :D

WGN America is coming to every major live streaming service. YouTube TV, Sling, Hulu and Fubo will be getting the channel in January.

So for you ritzy streamers, Youtube TV/Hulu Live + Philo with Fire TV or Android TV is probably your best bet for a complete television experience. $85 + tax. $92 before tax with Disney+.

I'm probably gonna drop Netflix for HBO Max. I can afford YTTV with juggling between Hulu/Disney+ or Max. But they need to add the Timmverse shows.

Oh and first world problem. Alexa keeps trying to change channels with Sling which is not installed instead of YouTube TV. She'll tell you she can change channels with Sling or Fire TV then ask which one. I say Fire TV which opens YTTV. It only happens if I change over from my Dad's Philo or Pluto.
