Camelot

i thought this new episode was a step up for the Arthur story line. Its nice to see him get out of the castle and not being a love sick puppy. he finally is starting to show leadership. i enjoyed all three stories this week. Gwain is my fav so far

Definite step up. Interesting to see how Arthur and Morgan dealt with justice. More curious to see what Merlin's up to.

I think this show ain't all as bad as what you're all making it out to be. Sure a lot of shows out there tend to start off pretty slow and the 5th and now 6th episodes are starting to show some promise. And good to see that Arthur seems to be becoming a little more mature to his role now. Nice to see some more focus into Merlin's powers too. And the more I see the Guinevere chick the more beautiful I'm starting to believe she is (the actress that is).

Love Game of Thrones but haven't watched The Borgias yet. I'll probably look at the Pilot and decide from there. Will a later Season introduce Ezio Alditore and his band of Assassins? ;)

This week's wasn't as good. Any Arthur/Guinevere scenes/subplots really bring it down.

The stories with Morgana and Merlin et al were good though.

This show would be so much better if they changed a few minor things.

1) focus more on merlin
2) focus more on the warriors 3
3) focus more on Morganna
4) stop with the whole Gwen/Arthur thing. (even though thats practially one of the biggest parts of this lore)
5) have Arthur stop being such a whiney *****.

So they sorta fixed 5 in the last few episodes, but good lord.

Still, the whole Merlin aspect is so awesome. How he basically weaves this grand tale from mundane and minute tasks and what not. Good stuff

The Guinevere/Arthur plot is an important part to the lore, but they've completely reversed it. They're supposed to be married and she cheating on him. Instead, she's married (to a completely likable character so far) and cheating with him. Doesn't help that neither of them is likable; she's helpless and weak and he's a whiny brat.

Right? I keep expecting leontis or however you spell it to **** up big time and then its all "oh its ok that shes banging arthur'. But every episode the dude just gets cooler and cooler.

Not that I expect him to last through the season or anything though, cause no ones ever heard of that guy. He's a total wannabe lancealot.

He's probably going to be killed off :csad:

I hope they start introducing some more knights we're familiar with.

Well that also depends on which lore you follow in some of them she does cheat on Arthur and then in others the feelings are shared but never acted upon and then there are others where she is nothing more than a good friend to him. I think the way they are going with this one is when Lancealot does show up the feelings maybe shared but not acted upon because you can't make her out to be a **** or look weak that she opens her legs up for any man that shows her some attention. Because you want people to love her. In the end you'll only make her the most disliked person on the show if you have her just move from her husband to another husband to a new lover. Unless they have Arthur do the same.

I 've just caught up to all the episode to date and I like it so far. I really liked the episode the Lady in the Lake that was a good twist on the story of excalibur. I love the characters of Merlin and Morgan. I think I like them so much because there is so much mystery surrounding them. Gawan is a cool character too I thought he was a *****e at first but he's turned out to be pretty cool.

I agree. Lady in the Lake was excellent- great twist on the legend. Other Eps seem weak since that one..

I agree with most of the posts on Arthur/Guin thing is tough to watch. I know the characters themselves are essential to the story but if we focus on just that aspect, SyFy's Merlin is blowing it out of the water.

The rest of the show, however, I am enjoying quite a bit. Gawan and Leonitis get cooler and cooler each episode as does Merlin/Morganna but unlike most major characters on the show, I feel that Arthur's character development is really being slowed down by his focus on the girl.

After the Glee, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones seasons end, I plan on starting this series and the Borgias. There's so many good new shows on now!

Eva Green should be nominated for an emmy for this past ep.

Last night's episode was alright. But as usual, the Guinevere/Arthur thing is unwatchable. Can they go a single episode without these 2 pining for each other?

With Morgan disguised as Igraine, it's pretty obvious she'll change into Guinevere at some point and bang Arthur which will give us Mordred.

I agree with the bold text 1000 times over. I hate the love triangle, and its execution...Arthur and Guinevere are not really likable characters...especially Arthur...which could be the downfall of this project.

Morgan gives me chills...by far, she is the highlight of the series. Merlin is pretty good as well.

Hopefully...the minds behind the project will stop focusing on the love triangle and find ways to make Arthur a more likable and interesting character...he really annoys the hell out of me.

I find Guinevere much more annoying than Arthur; it wasn't until she was introduced to the show that i started disliking Arthur. And Merlin's just a weirdo. I don't know if that's good or bad at this point.

I was really excited about this show and wanted to like it, but Arthur just kills it for me. Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green are really good but beyond that I just can't stand Arthur and Guinivere.

Just saying, Andy Whitfield was a freaking real man's man in Spartacus. You wanted to root for the guy. He did some bad stuff but he freaking hated it and the dude was anguished. Arthur is a freaking spoiled brat and a kid in a candy store. I want him to get fragged and for like his brother to be king instead.

You guys are missing the point about Arthur he's essentially a kid who is trying to unite a nation. A kid who is in love for the first time and being in love for the first time for nearly anybody annoys everybody else around you. Everything is fresh, and the feelings you have are so intense that you don't know how to handle it the first time around.

No, I'm completely aware. Doesn't change me from hating it.

I get it . . . and I still want Arthur to get fragged.

Guinevere is annoying, but we just see Arthur a lot more.

It's still handled poorly. He should be more like Jim Halpert from The Office, secretly in love with her, obvious to the viewer, but never tell her because she's with someone else. They'd both be a lot more likable that way. Instead, they're both bratty, annoying, stupid, and screwing over a guy who is basically perfect. It'd be a lot better if Leontes and Arthur's roles were switched. You can make him Lancelot and see how his affair with Guinevere slowly leads to Camelot's fall.

First off the guy who never pulls the trigger on a female he likes is a pu@@y and ends up being the friend who the girl comes to about problems. I've never seen the office but I'm guessing that is what Jim Halpert is. I never said what Arthur and Gwen are doing is right it is what it is.However for Arthur the boy who would be king this experience is a necessary evil for what he will become.

BTW why does it seem like everyone can never remember what it was like to be a teenager? You would think people would be more understanding since they went through the experience but I found the opposite to be true more than not. It is like people have completely forgotten how annoying they were as a teenager. Yes you all were annoying at one time some of you still are.

No, it doesn't make him a *****, but rather a respectable human being.

Arthur's not a teenager, he's in his early 20's. Which back then is more like being in your 30's.

I don't think Arthur is being a cool badass when he "pulls the trigger" on a woman who is married....a woman who is married to one of his friends....a woman who is married to one of his friends who saved his life.

The thing is teen angst love can be handled well. It can make audiences root for the star crossed lovers. It's not like this is some alien concept (coughRomeoandJulietcough) in literature or fiction. The problem is this love story is tedious and frustrating because it makes us dislike the protagonists. It is supposed to make us root for them, but they come off as frivolous, weak and stupid. That is not the intention, but reflects either the writing, acting or both is off and it is hurting the show so much I quit watching it several episodes ago.

It just does not work.
