Camelot

So, I watched the final episode (having skipped the last 5 or so) and y thoughts....

I'm not sure if it's gotten any better as a show, but at least the actor who plays Arthur has. The "battle" was hilariously low budgeted and Leortes or however the Lancelot stand-in is pronounced had a predictable and lame death (this is after he knows arthur banged his wife on their wedding day?!?!). But ARthur dealing with Morgan was satisfying, if a bit unbelievable (a king does not need a reason to have someone executed and with Morgan he has a slew of them, even if she doth protest). Also, Merlin can't save Arthur's momma and then leaves? I think he wins the award for most useless wizard-mentor in popular fiction on this show.

Lastly, Morgan disguising herself as Guinevere and sleeping with Arthur was obvious since the first or second episode. I'm surprised they waited this long and used it as a season finale cliffhanger. It might have been better if she had sneaked into Camelot earlier in the show and did that so as to set up Mordrid for the future.

Well one advantage of them keeping Morgan alive and going the Mordrid route is that this show now has a longview and can skip 10-15 years in the future and recast Arthur and Guinevere. Though it will make the show look even more messy and half-arsed, but it can only help them at this point.

Yeah, I was glad Kay ripped into him. I'm guessing next week that Leontes will go back to help him, be mortally wounded, then forgive Arthur and tell him to marry Guinevere as he dies in his arms.

I'll watch next week for the finale but I really don't have much interest in next season unless they'll be introducing more familiar knights.

:lmao: :awesome:

Someone was right on the money. I saw that death coming to when I stopped watching 4-5 episodes ago and I was still disappointed that they really did just THAT in the finale.

I had high hopes for this show but it finishes in a very distant third to Game of Thrones and The Borgias which are both highly addictive, in my opinion.

Leontes' death is pretty much ripped from Lord of the Rings when Boromir died in Aragorn's arms.

Since I got 1 prediction right, I'll try another. Arthur said the seat in front of Leontes' blood will remain vacant until a knight as good as him comes along. My money is on that knight being Lancelot which will be more ironic since he'll probably sleep with Guinevere.

^ Haha Spidey you so funny!!! ;)

The final ep had lots of  factor too it. Not sure if the show will get a season 2; the way they left it, it doesn't really need one.

My money is on there not being a second season.

So is it too early to label Fiennes a showkiller?

I'm not disappointed about the show being canceled. It had so much potential and wasted it at all. What killed this show? Arthur's actor, Jamie Campbell Bower(?). Terrible choice. He looked like he was 14 and he acted like a *****ebag. We never really got to like Arthur.

The most interesting character and villain was James Purefoy's character and he got killed in two episodes. He could've carried the whole season and had an inevitable confrontation or climax at the end with Arthur. It was a terrible choice to get rid of him so quickly.

They really just mishandled this show from start to finish. I don't like Guinivere or feel bad for her or her situation.

The showkiller was Arthur not Merlin. Everyone hated Arthur in this show.

This is why Spartacus worked so well. We love Andy Whitfield and Spartacus He had to do some questionable bad stuff at times but we are always sympathetic about it and the show really made us like Spartacus especially his love and respect for his wife.

After like four different series, Slater really should've learned his lesson.

Glau has only held a supporting role in whatever series she's been in. Slater has been the main star in his shows and still fails.

I am rewatching this show and I really wish they would've made another season.
