Camelot

Yes he was in Twilight and he had a flashback role in Deathly Hallows part 1.

****, James Purefoy is in this. Now I have to watch it.

His performance in Rome, particularly the second season(and if we're getting real specific, the final episode) stand out as the greatest performance I've seen from an actor ever.

And then of course there's always Resident Evil...

Hopefully we se more of Eva Greens funbags...

when does this show start?

So I watched hour 2 this morning (DVR) and....eh. The locations look stunning. However, the only thing great creatively about this show is Eva Green. Turning Morgan into a rival for the throne was clever, casting Eva Green was genius. Whenever she is on screen the show goes from cheesy to engaging. She and James Purfoy are far more entertaining than Merlin and Arthur. Too bad they wrapped up King Lot's story line so quickly. The introduction of Guienvere was nice, but then they added what I can tell will be a dippy love triangle that will become especially tedious when they inevitably introduce Lancelot in season 2.

Seriously though....it is watchable, but only for Eva Green smoldering as Morgan and the locations and costumes after that. Though I haven't seen Borgias or Game of Thrones yet, this is obviously going to be the lightest of the three projects premium cable is producing.

Joseph Fiennes as Merlin?
over acting city.

starting with his introduction lol
so epic

So, how was it?

I wasn't so into the sparticus or whatever series...too typically american sexed up. I am hoping for more story this time.

I think the show is very good and will be much like Spartacus were the show series out slow but by the end has you hooked. The real difference here and you can see it is that this series is more focused on story and character growth then what Spartacus was. Even though I like this series I still prefer Clive Owen's King Arthur because it was based more off of the historical accounts of King Arthur. This is based more off of the fairy tale or myth that is Arthur while there are documents to support that he was in fact a real person and I think they should have went that way sort of.

I wish they had gone with the route that the Clive Owen movie did. It was a great story and with a little magic thrown into it this show would have been amazing. Now it is just another retelling of the fairy tale, albeit told very well from what I've seen so far.

King Arthur was not a real person. He was a combination of about half a dozen monarchs and warlords.

I think the show is taking a much smarter route of setting it a few hundred years after the Romans left and there is some structure of kingdoms and realms between warring factions for Arthur to unite, as opposed to being a Roman who takes over for the dead Empire. t also allows them to be closer to the legend and using characters like Morgan and Merlin.

There is minimal magic in this production and it is set in medieval England, not the fiary tale one created in the 1600s. The problem is that it is kind of slow.

i like this show alot. but man Merlin is always sooo pissed, dude just looks angry 100% of the time.

Ugh. So I just watched the pilot episode(s), and while it was not a complete waste of time it gave me 0 reason to want to continue watching. Almost all of the storylines introduced were wrapped up(or rather, wrapped up enough), and my two favorite characters are dead. Big fail.

Actually there are documents supporting that he was in fact real. However there are also documents which say he was kind of like Robin Hood a mix between a bunch of people. However over the years they have been finding more and more documents of an old English King during the Romain era named Arthur. Now the rest I am sure is made up but Arthur may in fact be a real person.

You are thinking of Ambrose who had a symbol of a bear which the word for back then was rthur or something that sounded like Arthur. There are a number of "kings" and warlords after the Romans left that had names similar names to Arthur. Ambrose (and his son) are most famous for driving the Saxons out of Brtiain for a generation after the Romans left.

But that is not necessarily "King Arthur," nor does it have anything to do with the modern day myths and stories of King Arthur (Holy Grail, Green Knights, Excalibur, Camelot, Lancelot, Guinevere, Morgan and Mordrid, Merlin, etc.). Most of that was invented in pieces sometime between the 16th and 18th centuries.

I know people want Arthur to be real, but he's more than likely not. The Clive Owen film is about as historically accurate as the Ridley Scott Robin Hood....i.e. not very.

I'll be honest...I like Merlin (the bbc show) better.

No lie.

Not exactly what I would call a faithful adaptation of the Arthurian Legend but it has been entertaining. Why al the hate?

I'm liking it. All of the characters are rather engaging, but I really don't like how feminine Arthur looks. He looks like he belongs on the CW.

Aside from Morgan, my favorite character on this show is Kaye.
i look forward to seeing how he is developed.

I'm loving Eva Green in this. She is definitely the highlight of the show; besides the obvious reasons :hrt: , she really sells the 'evil'.

all the ladies are lovely to look at...and so willing to go nude. What more can you ask for.

Eva Green's rocking in this show.

Guess the infidelity thing runs in the Pendragon blood. I feel sorry for Leontes.
