Comics Can anyone give details on Peter's Collegiate Status.

I was wondering if anyone can update me on Peter's degree status. Years ago Peter was going back to school (with MJ) to concentrate on his degree. We never really saw him go to school and I don't ever recall it being stated that he ever completed it.

During the Mackie/Byrne "reboot" Peter landed a job at Tri-Corp. After that angle was dropped like a rock, Peter just seemed to float along until JMS gave him the teaching job at Mid Town High.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Does anyone actually know the status of Pete's collegiate degree?

2) Do you guys think Peter should return to college and keep working at the Bugle to support himself?

3) Should the teaching angle be dropped? Teaching at the high school hasn't added much to the book because JMS seems to have forgotten that Pete works there.

I think a lot of the books problems stem from the fact that Peter's life outside of the costume is boring. The stories were always at their best when Peter's life outside the costume was/is as interesting as his heroic exploits. If Marvel took the time to figure out where Peter "is" professionally, I think it would at least give them a foundation to build on.

It'd be nice to see him try to complete his schooling. It gives the character something to work towards and the teaching angle can be kept if he works as a TA. Also, considering how hard Aunt May took the news that Peter had dropped out back in the day, you would think she'd nag him on it every now and then to do it, not to mention his own desire to become a scientist.

Probably just his bachelors. I think it's required to have one if you are a teacher. I don't ever remember him getting his masters.

And also, unless it's been changed since the story in the 80s, fans of the 90s cartoon might like to know that neogenics was Peter's choice for major.
