I was reading this and it got me curious...I just read the first post lurkin' thrugh the web...can they get you fired?

I know there's a lot of cop savvy posters here.

if what you did you were not on work property or on work time then the police have no right to tell your work anything

From what it sounds like, those cops were d-bags. Of course, I don't know the full story here. That being said, not all cops are like that. They probably got a tip on the guy which is fine, but firing over something that small is messed up.

It's true that we don't know the full story, but it sounds like the employer is a *****ebag as well.

Wow.. whatever forum is that, the guy had a 566kb avvy. 566. That's more than 7 times our size limit.

I see no such thing there.

I can't help you there.

It's not the cops job to call your work . These cops really didn't have a justified cause to do it either .

Well obviously they can, although I don't think it's entirely legitimate. But the real ******* here is the employer who terminated a person's employment based on hearsay. Or the guy who was probably smoking forgot to mention that his employers asked him to submit to a drug test that he refused to or failed to pass. :whatever:

Uhh, if you get caught with any illegal paraphernalia, ANYONE can be a ******** and call your job and say "hey, 'X' employee of yours got caught with 'y' illegal item"

That thread starter has no case

If the police tried to tell my boss some things, he would probably walk away as they were speaking. He tends to do that with people. A lot.:o
