This may have been discussed, but he talked to the dog in the episode where he went to the Bennet's house. And he was with a roach while he was in captivity and there was a roach again at the end of ep 23.

The roach is symbolic. He doesn't talk to animals.

Sylar is no Dr. Dolittle.

Kane is the one who talks to animals

^Says who?

Sylar's power is to know how things work, that includes animals... for him to have a limited ability to manipulate animals since he knows exactly how they communicate and how their minds work would be a simple matter...

I always thought Sylar could adapt from anything.

its been rumored that kane will talk to animals.

for sylar, he would have to kill someone who can communicate with animals and see (?) thier brain before he will be able to talk to animals. but who knows, we might see him talk to animals in a future episode. but i don't want to see that.

He didn't have to kill someone with a brain stealing power to figure out how to take out people's brains... Sylar's original power, the ability to see how things work, is VERY versatile... and he can use it to figure out how to train animals...

Also, from every quote I've seen, it's been rumored that Kane has a 'biblical power,' and fans, insane with foolishness, I presume, somehow came to the conclusion that Kane can talk to animals. I think they got it from some crazy fan idea that someone made a bunch of roaches carry sylar to the sewer.

But I've yet to see a quote that even obliquely implies that Kane can talk to animals...

i guess.......but it seems he can only see how things work by opening it up first. I just don't remember his power being that versatile. the only thing i could have think of his power being versatile, is him realizing that Chandra's watch was a few seconds off. but is that from experience or his power?

Deathray Magazine has stated Kane can control insects, and is the being who can see Molly. It seems that this character will also be known as Kensei, as portrayed by David Anders.

Yeah, who is Kane?

I wish there was a separate place to talk about characters that haven't appeared on the show yet,.. Some people don't like to read ahead into things...
