Can someone help me make a The Shadow Costume?

Hey, I was considering making a Shadow costume and I was wondering how I should go about it. Any ideas? Suggestions?

I would have thought with a name like 'The Shadow', that you'd know what to wear easily enough.

Wear this, but also tape a huge sign to the front of your costume that says "THE SHADOW" in big letters so you don't have people constantly asking you who you're supposed to be.

I'd suggest starting with a wide-brimmed black fedora and a plain red hankerchief. As for the cape, maybe try to find an old magician's version, or make one with a large piece of black leather. The uniform itself looks fairly simple: an old military-type coat with three buttons on the right to fasten it, plus black slacks and boots. Trying an Army/Navy supply store wouldn't be a bad idea.
