Candyman remake

Really good trailer. I have to admit I preferred the first one though. It had a darker, creepier tone. But this one was solid.

I am confused though. Is this a sequel or a reboot because they changed Candyman's backstory in that trailer. Or is this just people putting their own spin on an urban legend?

But they said the story was false. I think it's building up the urban legend of who is Candyman, meaning his origin is pretty much forgotten today, just the monster.

But considering Tony Todd is back, I'm sure they'll remind us of his actual origin.

As someone else suggested, it seems that they’re really playing into the urban legend aspect where stories change overtime. But they’re clearly still honoring the original given the main character is the baby from the original and the mom is featured in the trailer. I think we’ll see the original Candyman caring less about the accuracy of his story and more about his name creating fear.

And I guess the point of the Candyman legend is his rage comes from being brutally murdered for something he was innocent of.

Another solid trailer and I'm honestly loving the dark, urban legend/fairy tale aspect that they showed a bit more of in this trailer as well as more of the overall world building.

The atmoesphere and tone of this just feels perfect and I really hope it delivers based on these trailers because I want a Candyman movie that actually honors and lives up to the original movie which is a classic for a reason.

The whole Candyman mythos just goes to show, if you don’t wanna get hurt, keep people’s name out of your mouth. LOL

I really can’t wait for this. A movie with a predominate black cast where we are not slaves or facing societal struggles; just a full on creepy ass horror movie.

Love to see it.

I hope this is good. the original scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Every October I love to watch Halloween Wars on the food network I believe, where they build cakes and carve pumpkins all based on Halloween themes. Anyway, Each episode they have a Horror celebrity guest judge and Tony Todd was on an episode. Thought it was cool.

Curious how big Colman Domingo’s part is. Feels like both trailers show different bits of the same scene. Hope that scene isn’t the extent of his role.

Candyman’s my fav slasher along with Halloween. That second trailer won me over big time. I just hope they don’t do that modern gimmick where they do those lame jump cuts whenever some action is happening in a horror movie.

Tony Todd isnt doing much these days anyway is he?
I'd full on expect a cameo in this film of some sort.

I watched the trailer for this and Halloween Kills again and I gotta be that guy! I’m more pumped for Candyman!

I know this got mediocre test screening reactions and HK got positive reactions but...I think this has potential to deliver more meat on the bone. Which isn’t a surprise because the OG was far ahead of its time and always had more substance than your average slasher. Halloween Kills looks like a fun, violent “killer goes ape**** on the town folk for an hour 45” and I hope the flashbacks add more weight to the film. But Candyman is my fav slasher. He scared me as a kid more than Freddy or Jason. And I saw it a few years before Halloween. So I’m definitely more excited for it.

It may also have to do with how many times you’ve seen one interpreted versus the other. Michael Myers has had 11 movies. Candyman has had only 3. Two of which relegated to video. It’s the fresher of the two.

I had a weird dream earlier this week that I cut off my hand. Anyway, I'm so looking forward to this. Clive will be making some Con appearances around the time this is released. I hope someone gets his thoughts on the sequel.

Any reason why Candyman's switched from a brown fur coat to a yellow coat?

I mean seems to be the basis of this movie. How local legends can change and shift.

They ever officially confirm its Tony Todd playing him again?

I believe they did. We just don’t know in what way or how long.
