My God.

This was chilling, this was thrilling and it was very timely. It just goes to show, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I loved how DaCosta weaved this together and now I’d like to see her take a crack at MCU X-Men next.

So good.

The end credits with the puppet animation was so well done also.

Vanessa Estelle Williams has aged flawlessly.

Literally looked like she stepped off the set of the 92 movie to film her scenes for this. Beautiful woman.

She’s so underrated.

Really enjoyed this one. It honored the first movie and took the story in a new and very interesting direction, expanding on the Candyman lore. Beautifully shot, great cast, and some genuinely creepy scenes. It even had some nice light humor from the supporting cast, notably Troy.

Not going to lie I didn't love the structure of this movie or the writing for some of the characters, but my god was this thing atmoespheric and beautifully directed.

Outside of the performances the stylishness of this film is probably the biggest standout to me and really makes me want to see what Nia DaCosta does next with The Marvels.

I wanted so much more when it got to the end though because that finale felt very rushed to me aswell as most of the third act, but I will admit that the last shot did give me chills.

Also, Coleman Domingo has such an awesome, commanding screen presence. It was interesting seeing him play such a different role in this too compared to the last thing I saw him being Zola.

I’m still laughing…

That scene when the white schoolgirls got killed in the bathroom, before they could finish saying Candyman 5x the Asian chick was like “nope not today” and bounced. LOL.

Can’t wait to see this, the original is one of my all time favorites. The first sequel was a lot of fun too. Haven’t seen the third one.

That was definitely one of the best bits of comedy in this movie and I don't understand why some critics complained about this movie not having enough humor in it when there was plenty stuff I that found funny like Yahya's burn towards that hipster *****e at the beginning or pretty much any scene with Troy which were easily the funniest parts of the movie IMO and it never felt like they were overdoing it either.

I actually like Candyman 2 aswell, but that third movie was awful and trust me you are better off not even knowing it exists unless you are that morbidly curious.

I am really happy this movie further cements Candyman as one of our culture’s great horror villains. Candyman is nearly up there with the likes of Leatherface, Freddy, Jason, and Pinhead.

After seeing this beautifully crafted film, People in my cinema were shook, A slight disturbed silence ascended when the credits rolled. Alot of racial undertones were made apparent and made this movie " heavy " throughout. As a brother i dont think i could watch that again. Ive seen some **** but this carried a vibe i haven't experienced in a while, maybe how the film used racial injustice and revenged our oppressors so to speak. I don't like to speak to fondly about this due to the mods watching but i will be very intrigued by how a certain group of people will respond . Best thing about Candyman 2021 is the cinematography and soundtrack. Completely nailed the atmosphere.

You know, I shouldn't be surprised, and yet here I am, still surprised at the length of ignorance they go to for the right wing outrage clicks.

The absolute insanity that they think the original Candyman didn't also have something to say. Can't say I didn't see this coming though.

That person is clearly trolling and/or insane.

Next they’ll post a video how Spike Lee has become too woke and has to go back to the days of She’s Gotta Have It and Do The Right Thing which didn’t push any agenda lol

Lordy. Did they even watch the original?
