Talked to a friend of mine today that attended the early test screening that occurred the same night as the Halloween Kills test screening in LA. He said as a huge fan of the franchise, he outright hated this interpretation. Said in many ways it was a disappointment and did not live up to the Candyman name. When asked if he felt if was a solid thriller in it's own right, he replied that all around it was awful and that the group of friends he went with all felt similarly.
Let's hope they fix whatever issues this flick has before June.
He co-wrote the scriptA lot of people will jump on it saying it's going to be great simply because Jordan Peele's name is attached even though he's only a producer for it.

I think his TV projects have been underwhelming so far between Twilight Zone and Hunters, but hopefully Lovecraft Country is greatP.S.: So far, Jordan Peele simply has a great track record as a filmmaker and producer, so people are simply trusting him based on his successes. Doesn't mean they'll blindly like it because his name is on it.
I think it's no secret that a true-to-source Gargoyles would never fit Disney's contemporary saccharine "one size fits all" brand model. I'm incredibly worried about what they're going to do to Hunchback with their remake.I'm still puzzled as to how Disney won't let him take on the Gargoyles franchise like he wants. It'd make them more cash for sure, yet they refuse to bring it back.
Somehow I completely missed Gargoyles as a kid. I remember seeing an ad for it in a comic book once and that was it. Does it have a really big fan base? Because if it doesn’t, then maybe Disney views it as too big a risk to spend the money on, even if Peele wants to do it.
It was huge when I was a kid. At least in Europe. There are few people my age who don't remember it.

Because it’s too mature for them. The Lizzy McGuire reboot is being altered because it’s not ‘family friendly’ enough apparently . You think they would risk giving Gargoyles to Peele?
Gargoyles would eventually end up on Disney plus. I think it's entirely related. I'm all for it being made especially if Peele is actually passionate about it, but it's a series that Disney can't do justice to unless they make it mature, which they won't.
