I loved the Captain Planet show, because the villains where so awesome! They're the cheesiest B-grade action movie villains thrown into Saturday mornings. If they get Mickey Rourke in a Hawaiian shirt for Duke Nukem, they have my money already.

Also, given the show, they should probably go all out and make Captain Planet gay.

You'd have to explain why a guy who only exists when he's formed out of the energies projected from magic rings would have any kind of sexuality at all.

I can see Matt Lucas as Hoggish Greedly and maybe Chris Columbus as director. I could also see Caleb Landry Jones from X-men First Class as Wheeler.

I can't see this working without some radical revamping...at the very least the whole "edutaining/preaching" aspect of it is going to have to get tossed out; audiences these days don't seem to like being taught lessons, no matter how noble the cause.

Who would play the villians?

Captain Planet if given a good script I welcome.

As for cast of characters

CPs most sinister foe has to be Verminous Skumm voiced by Jeff Goldblum.

Jeff Goldblum could even be considered to play Skumm as he does indeed look a bit like a rat. Sorry Jeff no offence!.

I don't think all villains have to be in the film so Skumm or Sly Sludge for me.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. The story needs to come first, the message second. If the message comes first, people will consider it "more tree-hugging hippy crap" or some other dandy choice of words.

LOL, I never thought about it before, but you're right, Rourke DOES look like Duke Nukem.

I'm curious, was there ever a lawsuit between the creators of this and the people who created the other Duke Nukem?
