To be honest I care not about X-Men's villains, what I do find more enjoyable than in Uncanny is the interaction between the X-Men themselves. I thought at first it was going to be a very weird team, but Carey manages to make it work, while Uncanny, which seems a very reasonable X-team, feels somewhat odd and weird, and there are minor continuity mistakes in it, which I actually expected in X-Men and not in Uncanny.
For example, why does Kurt fear Rachel accessing the Phoenix Force in 481? She is the ONLY PHOENIX EVER to actually control the power and use it on a grand scale without getting "corrupted" by the dark side, and Kurt was there for all of it. 75 issues of Excalibur with Rachel as Phoenix and not even ONCE it was hinted that she could go "Dark", and Kurt was right there in the middle of it all. It's things like that which cause me to look at Uncanny with a wary eye and not enjoy it like X-Men.
