Who would you cast to utter the immortal words "'m the Goddamned Batman"?

Oh man. I can't do this, I suck at choosing actors for roles, but I would certainly love a movie based on that.

You see, it's not that the comic was good or anything - it was quite bizarre to be honest - but I couldn't stop giggling at the big torment so many bat-purists must have been subjected. :joker:

Scarlette Jonhansoon as Black Canary

That's hard to cast because Batman in the series is 25 years old so it needs to be a young actor and a very big muscular guy and a versatile actor who can do a Clint Eastwood impersonation as Batman and also talk and act differently as Bruce Wayne with Vicki Vale and have a creepy laugh and generally act like a weirdo as Batman.

Orly? I feel he looks perfect for the All Star Joker....

Don't get me wrong, I am a Willem Dafoe fan and I agree that Dafoe's features look like the Joker and I would love to see Dafoe play the Joker. I was just thinking about Dafoe's 54 year old age compared to the age of the Joker in the series, which makes Dafoe absolutely perfect for the Joker at that older age in Dark Knight Returns, but I was thinking that a younger actor would be more appropriate for the role with All-Star.

They probably are 20-something but no character in ALB&R looks like 2-something.

I made this cast ignoring the actors' actual ages:

Adam West or Clint Eastwood as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Sean Connery as Alfred Pennyworth
David Bowie as The Joker
Emily Rossum as Vicki Vale
Scarlett Johansson as Black Canary
Julie Newmar as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon
Yvonne Craig as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl
Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman
Harrison Ford as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern
Tom Welling as Clark Kent/Superman

Batman: Gerald Butler
Robin: An Unknown Kid actor
Superman: Tom Welling
Wonder Woman: Emily Blunt
Green Lantern: Nathan Fillion
Plastic Man: Jim Carrey
Black Canary: Scarlett Johansson
The Joker: Johnny Depp
Catwoman: Angelina Jolie
Batgirl: Dakota Fanning
Alfred: Ben Kingsley
Gordon: George Clooney
Vicki Vale: Alice Eve

Director: Quentin Tarintino

This casting is incredible!

Carrey could do great as Plastic Man, if they let him put some actual craziness in it, not just his usual funny side.

And Depp could do a great ASB&R Joker, since this Joker seems to be quite serious - while Batman spends half of the time cackling.

And yes, Welling would be in order for this movie. I don't watch Smallville - well after the second episode - but his inclusion would hit the style of what ASB&R is.

Thanks. I figured the cast should be just like the 60's Batman TV show--a bunch of big names with a hilarious lead actor. I honestly think Butler as All Star Batman would open up even more doors for him than 300 did

True. Can't be too strict on ages, it's more important to find actors that look right as the characters in the comic and have the acting skills. So...

I'd cast Jon Hamm as the goddamn Batman/Bruce Wayne. He already looks like the goddamn Batman/Bruce Wayne, he's obviously great at playing a wealthy, smooth guy with a dark side, a secretive life, can also be swave and charming as Bruce Wayne with Vicki Vale, I'm sure he could bulk up a bit for the role if needed and could do that "lameass Clint Eastwood impersonation" as Batman as well.

"I love being the goddamn BATMAN."

Allen Alvarado as Robin the Boy Wonder. He is a good kid actor, looks like Robin in the comic, and he even is learning martial arts. "I complained so much about wanting to do one that my parents just finally caved it,
and said, Okay, he needs to learn how to do a martial art, let's just get him to it. I actually do it with my dad."

"This should get me KILLED. But it WON'T."

Willem Dafoe as the Joker. I was wrong to be so strict on the comic book ages, and nobody else really looks like the Joker in All-Star, and has that creepy voice and presence, acting talent, so, I'm going with Dafoe after all.

"This is LOVE. In my OWN...SPECIAL...WAY."

16 year old India Eisley as Batgirl.

"And ALWAYS throw in a smile when you're bull****ing your dad."

Angelina Jolie as Catwoman.

"I've heard RUMORS of how you handle WOMEN--And even I don't play THAT rough."

Christina Hendricks as Vicki Vale.

"I'm having a date with BRUCE WAYNE."

Aiden Turner as Superman.

"We have to BRING HIM IN. Turn him over to the AUTHORITIES."

Kate Beckinsale as Wonder Woman.

"If none of you are MAN enough, I'll dispatch that psychopath MYSELF."

Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.

"DAMN you and your LEMONADE!"

...Continued...

Jim Carrey as Plastic Man for his amazing physical comedy. He's like Plastic Man naturally.

"I think the B-MAN is COOL."

Scarlett Johansson as Black Canary.
35brxoj.jpg

"A sweet young thing like ME can only take so MUCH."

Sir Ben Kingsley as Alfred. He's a great actor, he has the Alfred look from the comic and he's muscular as Alfred is in All-Star. If he grew his hair out on the sides he'd look perfect.

"Sir, I am your BUTLER. I am your AIDE. I am your MEDIC. I am NOT, however, your SLAVE. UNHAND me."

Dennis Farina as James Gordon. He looks like Gordon in the comic, with real grey hair, mustache, etc., just needs a pair of glasses and his hair combed down, he's a great cop actor and the guy really was a cop, so he's authentic.

"I don't give a damn if he smacks officers DREW and RAFFERY and FLASS around. God BLESS him for that. I took a BASEBALL BAT to FLASS once, MYSELF..."

Director: I agree that Quentin Tarintino would be great to direct it, with Frank Miller along as consultent.

I'll tell you what I WOULD love to see...

A The Dark Knight Returns movie with Willem Defoe as the Joker and Tom Berenger as Bruce Wayne...

If there was a time machine...then I think Clint Eastwood would have made an awesome Batman, but since there isn't then:

Batman:Hugh Jackman (if Wolverene had never happened)
Robin:Nobody because the character sucks
Alfred:Michael Gambon
Commissioner Gordon:Gary Oldman
Bullock:Michael Marsden
Joker:Adrien Brody
Penguin:Eddy Izzard
Riddler:Jackie Earl Haley/Michael Sheen
Catwoman:Ashley Green/Jessica Biel/Zoe Salanda
Poison Ivy:Christina Hendricks
Mr Freeze:Willem Dafoe
Ras al ghul:Vincent Price (back in the time machine again)

Hope you like my picks
