I agree 1000% I am amazed to this day why Burton picked Keaton over Baldwin for Batman. do not get me wrong Keaton OWNED the role but after seeing Baldwin in movies like the 88 Hunt For Red October and a few others I think he would have nailed it, plus he looks a LOT more like Bruce than Keaton does ;)

:awesome:

Apparently Baldwin and Burton hadn't seen eye to eye during the making of BEETLEJUICE which basically led to Tim stating that he never wanted to work with Baldwin ever again. Whilst I'm aware that Alec was favoured by both the producers and the studio they overlooked him to appease their already signed director.

oh i know of a few names that were up for the role then but i didnt know john was one of them. i wonder how he would have turned out as superman lol.

he was up for superman? i never read that anywhere.

It's in one of the commentaries in the Superman DVD set that came out a couple years back in the big metal box. I think it was the Donner cut of Superman 2.

Bump for an old thread.

Read an interview earlier with David Hasselhoff where he alluded to being one of the names thrown in the hat for the original Superman movie in 1978. Hasselhoff of course went on to achieve fame in Knight Rider 4yrs later, in 1982.

What does everyone think, could he have made a good Superman? I know he's become a kind of comedic figure nowadays but back then he was relatively unknown and not seen in that light, not until well after KR and Baywatch days. He certainly had the height (6"4) and good looks, and could easily have bulked up.

Kurt Russell as an 80s Hal Jordan is inspired.

Or even Tom Cruise, he kinda played it anyway :D

I think Cruise would've been a perfect Animal Man back in the day.
Or Lex Luthor if he played a villain.

Debbie Harry - Harley Quinn

Although I wouldn't have been up for Harley Quinn back in the 80's, Madonna would've been perfect to play her.

She would’a done it, had Schumacher stayed on for Batman 5.

I disagree with most of your opinions on movies and comics but damn, you have a knack for perfect fan castings. :woot:
