5 changes you would make to some of the movies (DC Edition)

Superman II

1. Lose the talking on the moon. Find a way around it.
--Not to be a physics nazi or anything, but I kind of felt that the much-lauded verisimilitude that Donner made work in the first film was lessened by Zod & co. freely conversing in the vacuum of space. Imagine how much creepier the moon attack might be if all three of them said nothing at all.

2. Beef up Lex. Make him a force to be reckoned with.
--I'm not the biggest fan of Gene Hackman's Lex. The performance is still fun, but that depiction of the character just hasn't aged well. He's a coward and an opportunist, and Zod's routine of threatening his life gets a bit tired after awhile. Rather, Lex should be the kinda guy who always has a backup plan. Even when Zod's ready to kill him, Lex has already sized Zod up and has planned ten steps ahead. Maybe he's got kryptonite in his pocket, I dunno. But there's so much more badassery that could've been done with a mere mortal outthinking a superpowered alien general.

3. Loved the Fortress scenes in the Donnner cut, especially the elusive re-energizing sequence. Gotta have me some Brando, studio politics be damned.
--But the Super-nookie needs to go after the depowering, not before.

4. Obviously no magic fight. The dramatic stand-off in the Donner cut works far better. Although there's gotta be a better way to dispose of Zod & co. than just killing them. They're powerless now, just throw them in a jail cell.

5. No memory kiss, no spinning the world back, just end it with "Lois knows."
--That balcony scene sure is touching. Perfect Donner ending.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight
Change the whole thing to Batman Beyond.
Batman and Robin
No camp, bring Keaton back, have Barbara be Jim's daughter, have Alfred die to make the movie darker, have dick become Nightwing, Bane escapes and takes mind enhancing drugs for becoming the main villain in Batman 5.

Superman Returns

1. Superman leaves earth for 5 years, but the reason he leaves earth in a hurry is not to scope out the remains of Krypton. Instead he receives a curious Kryptonian distress signal from deep space and goes to investigate. Lex takes this opportunity to head up to the fortress of solitude and steal Supe's Kryptonian technology. But instead of using it for idiotic real estate schemes, he learns(from Jor El) how to grow the crystals and harness the energy from the them. Lex returns to Metropolis. He then forms LEXCORP and becomes a corrupt self-made man. No stealing from old widows(and no implied granny sex).

2. Superman discovers a small Kryptonian settlement on the planet Kandor. the Kryptonians there were all residents on one of Krypton's moons. And they were able to narrowly escape while Krypton imploded. But most of the Kryptonians there have slowly died of Kryptonite Poisioning since they became exposed to Kryptonite radiation while Krypton was imploding . The only survivor is a young girl, Kara Zor EL, who was not affected by the radation, having been born on Kandor and not Krypton. This gives the movie the much needed Kryptonian-family angle from the original plot without idiotic inventions like "Super-kid" and "Deadbeat Super-dad." Superman and Kara return to earth. where...

3. Superman finds that Luthor is being heralded as the savior of Metropolis for synthesizing a new energy source during a crippling energy crisis while Superman was MIA. This compels Lois Lane to write the Pulitzer Winning article, "The World Doesn't Superman." Superman is unconvinced of Luthor's goodwill but feels guilt for being gone and allowing Luthor to rise to power. But Lois's article does convince Supes that Luthor has indeed replaced him as Metropolis's favorite son. So he decides to remain on the Kent farm to help acclimate Kara to earth and to help her develop her powers instead of going back to his role as Superman. That is until...

4. LEXCORP does testing for U.S. Military with the shuttle/plane scenario as seen in the original movie, only the Peta Wilson character is Mercy Graves and the cause for the malfunction is the unstable Kryptonian energy source. Supes knows that Lois is covering the event and springs to action, donning the blue tights again in order to save her. Everything goes down as in the original script, except that Clark Kent scoops everyone with the "Superman Returns," story(including Lois) which leads to Perry giving him his job back. This also leads to the first face-to-face meeting between Lex and Supes since Superman's return, atop LEX TOWER. Where Lex tells Supes flat out that he stole the technology from his fortress while he was gone... and dares Supes to do something about it.

5. The rest of movie is about Superman mending relationships.. Lois, his friends, the public, and restoring people's faith in him, while trying to bring down an arrogant Lex Luthor. Culminating in Supes finding Luthor's Kryptonian Crystal mining field on a seperate island he grew in the Atlantic(ala New Krypton in the original script). And just like in the original movie, he sacrifices everything to rid the earth of it, and in doing so... seemingly dies. As Kal El's body lies motionless in the hospital, Kara reveals herself to world as Super-girl and brings Lex to justice... as Superman awakes just in time to give a nice speech about family, truth, justice, and.... all that other stuff. And then makes the requisite flight over the earth. Roll credits!

5.1 Recast Kate Bosworth with Zooey Deschanel as Lois Lane.

5.2 And no Richard White character please, his acts of true heorism totally upstaged Superman in his own movie.
