Cast the MCU X-Men/Fantastic Four

FIRST MOVIE X-MEN TEAM

Cyclops - Ansel Elgort

Jean Grey - Zoey Deutch

Wolverine - Emile Hirsch

Beast - Oscar Isaac

Charles Xavier - Denzel Washington

Emma Frost - Natalie Dormer

This is a dope list.

I think Isaac is too old for this crew. If we're reusing brown skinned actors from the Fox films, then I'd go for Boo Boo Stewart.

I also would be thrilled to see Denzel's particular accent on Denzel.

Still weird to have a black guy be old money in England, but if he was from one of the, like, few few wealthy Black families, that actually could go into explaining his outlook on race relations in an interesting way.

Miles Teller for Cyclops :o

If he was good enough for Reed then he's good enough for Scott Summers.

I'm not much of a fan of the X-Men but Adrien Brody as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto would be A+ casting as far as I'm concerned.

Brody is too stringy for Erik, I want this for a change:

It would be nice to see a physically imposing Magneto like he is in the comics. I have a hard time buying him as the strong dictator/leader that is Erik.

There’s no reason for magneto to be built like that :funny:

Except Magneto is built like that, that's enough reason. I want him to be Cap' s size
he's built like that, because he's a comic book character and most artists are trained to draw bodies like that, but little else

Exactly :funny:
There’s not much variety when it comes to superhero/villain physiques in comics.

I know why he's built like that. But that's still the look he's had in the comics for decades. The actor should get bulked up the same way Evans, Phratt, Hemsworth, Boseman, Stan and Rudd did. Both Fassbender and Mckellen (as great as they were) didn't look the part and weren't physically imposing. Marvel does a good job of getting their actors into shape. No reason for Magneto to be a stringy guy anymore

Ok, fair enough. Spoke too soon. But I still have a hard time buying Adrian as the leader of the Brotherhood. But to be fair, haven't seen him in many roles

Arnold Schwarzenegger as Magneto.

He's not given many opportunities to play characters with an antagonistic edge, but I think his work in Predators and Grand Budapest shows that he can pull it off just fine. The important thing for me is that Magneto should have a sympathetic undercurrent to him. You should be able to see his POV. I think Brody gives you sympathy, charisma, and a dangerous edge when necessary. A complete package.

I have an idea for this if they were to keep the world as is and just age up the current X-Men from Dark Phoenix, which would likely never happen. My basic idea is to match actors as close as possible (for most of them) in looks to their OT selves. But again, not likely to happen and is a pretty massive continuity error for the MCU, unless Xavier mind wipes humanity of mutant existence in DP.

You're selling me on Brody haha

^if were talking about going for a younger Magneto and Xavier again... what about Jonny Lee Miller as Xavier to Brody's Magneto?
(I've always said he needs to get into the MCU somewhere, he's the only modern day Sherlock who hasn't played in a Marvel character lol)

And then on that note, there's a question of how comfortable we are will re-using actors from non-MCU Marvel movies. We've got both former Human Torches in the MCU, but do we do that without reserve?

Patrick Stewart as Uatu?
Ian McKellen as The Supreme Intelligence?
James Marsden as Paste Pot Pete?
Famke Jansen as Agatha Harkness?
Halle Berry as Monica Rambeau?
Tye Sheridan as Vance Astrovik/Justice?
Sophie Turner as Angelica Jones/Firestar?
Kodi Smit-McPhee as Robbie Baldwin/Speedball?
Alexandra Shipp as Namorita Prentiss?
Ioan Gruffud as Senator Kelly?
Jessica Alba as Val Cooper?
Michael Chiklis as the big reptilian Starjammer?
Miles Teller as The Beyonder?
Kate Mara as Songbird?
Jamie Bell as Wolverine?
Toby Kebbel as Erik Josten/Atlas?
Hugh Jackman as The Beyonder?

Is it open season, so long as they fit?
for that matter is it to soon to bring back the cast of Amazing Spider-man?
Garfield and Stone would actually make a pretty good Reed and Sue, no?
throw in Chris Zylka as Ben

lol

The more I think about it, the more I REALLY want the X-Men to be teenagers. Mutant abilities tend to manifest as a kid...and the rapid rise in mutation MUST be a new thing in the MCU (to explain why they haven't been around).

Also, the deal won't be finalized for up to 18 months...so actual production of movies likely won't start until that's done...let's call it a year, so they can't move forward until 2019.

Heck...I actually kind of want the inciting incident that "activates" the mutant gene to happen in Avengers 5 (maybe the villain is dealing with genetics)...so that is pretty far out in time.

Therefore...the actors I'd want to cast as the X-Men are mostly children right now...and I'm not well-versed on enough child actors to fill out a team roster. I mean...the kid from Room could be Cyclops or something.

Charles Xavier ... James Darcy
Erik Lehnsherr ... Adrien Brody

Wasn't James Darcy already Edwin Jarvis in Agent Carter?
