WEDNESDAY SEASON 2 (1999)
Sequel Time, fellow outcasts!
A couple of you guys made a go of 'Wednesday' in the late 90's, posting back when Season 1 was new. Luigi, you built the cast around
Christina Ricci, which is what I would have done, but of course that runs into the conundrum with Gomez; the death of Raul Julia left the gang without their iconic patriarch (presumably why they only made two movies with that cast). Frodo sidestepped that with Plan B, which was to recast everyone, with
Anna Paquin as Wednesday. Either approach works, and the point is to have fun. And besides, you both landed on
Kirsten Dunst as Enid, who was also my pick, yay! So this'll be a continuation of either version.
First is the matter of
Pugsley, stepping up to series regular. (Neither of you guys listed him, as his role in Season 1 is quite small.) Obviously if Ricci returns, then
Jimmy Workman would as well. Otherwise...well that one gave me some trouble. Searching high and low across the late 90's, no young actor quite had the right Pugsley vibe for me. The best I could do was
Aaron Schwartz (who was 18 at this time). True, he had stepped away from acting by '98, but he came back later as an adult, so close enough.
