That's great, would have been the type of gritty, bombastic movie Eastman and Laird likely grew up on.
I can imagine their Turtle costumes being on par with then Planet of the Apes makeup and Cayman of Battle Beyond the Stars.
And shot much like Assault on Precinct 13 and the Warriors, in a dark gang ruled urban, thriller setting.
Combined with the marshal-arts stylings of the Shaw Brothers Studio.
Also those four stars, still in their youth, would have brought the teen angst and antics, and fandom that came with. Pretty much what if the Sweathogs were Mutant Ninja Turtles.
