Would Josh Hartnett work as The Flash? Or Green Lantern?

I was just watching 30 Days of Night and figured he might be good for a superhero role.

yep, he was up for everything. spidey, bats and supes. i think he'd be good as either. maybe a better barry.

i don't think he'd work particularly well for Superman, Spider-Man or Barry. I can see him as Batman though.

My thoughts on why The Rock is not Shazam neither Black Adam.

Reading the last interview we can assume some points.

1. Why mentioning Superman's power level if his character will not be in the JL.
2. I don't see him as Shazam, I see him as BA and while he is an antihero (was the Shazam of the ancient times) so......

That gives me to the conclusion that he's either MM, Orion if he's a hero.
Maybe he's Captain Atom but I'm more inclined to one of the two from the above.

Ignoring Elba's current studio 'allegiances'(I've never seen one of those guys jump), there is no one being talked about that can sell a GL solo with better chances than Dwayne. Not Elba or any of these other names. But I suppose that's an external thing.

As for Martian Manhunter...do people really want this? I mean why Dwayne. Seems like an odd choice when it comes to that characters disposition and what Dwayne brings across the board. Then there is the matter of prosthetics..
More than ever, there seems like there are better choices out there.

Regarding Hartnett... I was 100% against him as Superman or Batman 10 years ago, but I'd be all for him as Hal Jordan. I think he could really pull that off.

A New Gods movie with the Rock as Orion or Darkseid would be so awesome.

And yeah Hartnett would work as Hal. Actually that's pretty much the only character on the team I can see him as. I don't think he fits The Flash.

I wasn't a fan of Hartnett's at all until I saw him in Sin City, Black Hawk Down and especially Lucky Number Slevin. He won me over in those films. He was also good in 30 Days of Night, even if the movie was pretty stupid.

I'm really not convinced that Green Lantern and Flash will be a part of the team yet (even for the JL movie). I think they'll want to save them for JL2 - they'll generate more excitement because they're fresh characters. Putting the Top 5 together all in one go is kind of blowing the novelty too early.

^ That movie would STILL make an insane amount of money, no-questions-asked.

Maybe we see a teen Dick Grayson in Gotham interacting with Bruce for just a moment or maybe a reference. I could see that . but could be Nightwing althought I see more possible that we might see a teenager to next see Nightwing in a solo Bats or another JL movie leading maybe a Teen Titans movie?. IMO it's better to have him in a solo Bats movie.

I have a feeling we're not getting a solo Bats movie. At least not with Affleck. I think this is a three-picture deal for him. BvS, JL, JL2.

I can see the whole series playing out like this:

Justice League (without Flash)
Wonder Woman
The Flash
Justice League 2 (with Flash)

Something like that. I think they'll NEED to address that Wonder Woman and Flash are the ONLY two major superheroes who haven't had solo films yet. Those two films are the elephants in the room. They have to do it. And I don't see them going nuts with 15+ films in this universe, so I think 6 might be the cut off (if that).

Let's just say in the event that Affleck doesn't return and they don't want to recast for JL2, you can have those un-used heroes join the team and carry on the mantle.

I don't really have any interest in seeing any Thanagarians outside of this hypothetical Arrow/Flashverse Green Lantern spinoff tv series that i keep fantasizing about..

I beg to differ. I think one of the potentially interesting characters are The Hawks. They could put Hawkgirl if they want to put her in the first movie, or Hawkman and the making a solo movie or first the solo and then introducing one of them or both. and the history involving Thanagarian or Egypcian or do a mix of both. I'd watch that movie 100% of course with the right team behind it.
I think Snyder and co may be interested in Thanagarians. I mean they mentioned in the prequel comic of MOS. I think they'll be part of this DC universe.

Slightly off topic, but how about Monarch/Nathaniel Adam as a central villain in a JL movie? I've always thought the concept of Monarch was cool... a superhero who turns evil and kills all the other heroes. It's too bad that DC sh** the bed with Armageddon 2001 after it got leaked that Captain Atom was supposed to be Monarch and they instead went with Hawk, possibly the lamest hero ever created. At least they eventually turned Atom into Monarch, though it took like 20 years or so.
