To be honest, I don't really like this "type" of casting...
Simply because he plays a "rebel" in Lost, he should be a "rebel" in X-Men?

... that's plain old typecasting right there.

I'm all for trying to find a really good cajun actor that looks like Gambit before and if worse comes to worst, get another actor from somewhere else that can effectively portray a cajun... obiviously.

no i meant as an actual person he has this rebellious kinda streak not as sawyer from lost. I just think he'd be good at it-i'm not some crazy fangirl who just wants to see him in everything btw i don't think he's that great looking

I've always pictured Rogue as one of the "better looking" X-Men girls and in my mind, Anna Paquin is far from being that. I mean, it would be a lot more interesting to have Rogue be beautiful, which would make it a lot harder for other people not to want to touch her...

Anna Paquin is a talented actress, but she's not "visually gifted", so to speak.

I'd like to see a whole "restart" of the franchise in a few years.

Sorry to say but 'visually gifted' is one of the dumbest terms I've ever heard for pretty. She may not be pretty to you but there are a lot of fans out there who see her as gorgeous.
But I agree a lot of the casting has been wrong but I don't want a restart of the franchise because of that; especially if Fox still owns the license.

It's nothing special, simply trying to add a little humor.

She may not be pretty to you but there are a lot of fans out there who see her as gorgeous.

Everyone knows that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and since this is so subjective, it would be pointless for me to take into consideration what everyone thinks of her... of course, I'm sure that there are people out there that find her to be really attractive ( oddly enough ), but I'm not one of them and I think that the visual aspect of the characters is really important in a movie and she doesn't "fit" into what I could call the "Rogue mold".

But I agree a lot of the casting has been wrong but I don't want a restart of the franchise because of that; especially if Fox still owns the license.

I wasn't trying to say I wanted to restart the franchise because of the casting, but simply that I thought she wasn't the only casting choice that I wasn't necessarily happy with. My comment about the "restart" concerned the whole state of the franchise as it is right now ( after the 3 films ).
