Casting The Newcomers

Since this film will most likely incorporate Enchantress and Surtur as the villains alongside Loki, here's who I'd want to see play the villains.

1. Surtur

My guess is Keith Szarabajka will have already played Dormammu by this point and Marvel hates using the same actor for two roles. My top two choices here are 1. Tim Curry and 2. Kiefer Sutherland.

2. Enchantress

Since Margot Robbie is now over at Warner as Harley Quinn, Marvel's rumored choice was taken. My top two here are 1. Viva Bianca and 2. Rachel McAdams.

3. Executioner

Dwayne Johnson is much like Margot Robbie, over at Warner where he's playing Black Adam. If anyone needs to know who I'd like to see, it's 1. Jason Statham or 2. Steve Austin.

As I mentioned in another thread, I also think that whoever plays Enchantress needs to look so beautiful that you couldn't believe she's a villain. You would have to fall for her charms, both on and off screen. If she is someone like Charlize Theron or Eva Green, then I think that would too automatically scream villainess immediately when you see her.

Marvel almost need to cast against type and think in terms of casting a love interest or heroine, and then using her as Enchantress. You need an actress you would end up falling for and wishing she weren't playing a villain.

Given that the Asgardian cast that they CURRENTLY have hasn't gotten nearly enough development/screentime, I'm not sure that adding more characters is a good idea. That being said:

-Balder-Karl Urban.
-Amora the Enchantress-Eva Green.
-Hela-Rachel Weisz.
-Surter-Sir Christopher Lee.

I could see Abby Cornish as the Enchantress.

Really not keen on the idea of Eva Green, because she would be too obviously a villain and I don't think that Enchantress should look like one.

She's ALWAYS come across like a villain to me. And it's not like Eva Green ALWAYS plays villains. And it's not like Marvel would hide the fact that Amora was a villain either.

It's not that Marvel would hide Amora being a villain. However I don't think she needs to look like a villain because she should be so beautiful and charming that she'd enchant you without you realizing.

South African actor Garth Colllins would make a good Executioner. Collins was in Starz Black Sails, BBC/Hulu's Wrong Mans and the film Zulu.

For Skurge the Exectioner, the original mountain: Conan Stevens. The man is 7 feet tall and built like a brick house.

According to the Marvel Wiki, Thor is 6'6", Skurge is 7'2". Plus he's usually much more massive than Thor.

For Enchantress I think the best move would be to twist Natalie Portman or Kat Dennings in order to screw with Thor's head:

And then finally Surtur should be someone with a sense of power, dramatic flair, and an epic voice:

Al Pacino and Michael C Hall come to mind.

Terrible idea for Natalie or Kat as Enchantress. If she created a temporary illusion like Loki did, then fine, but no way do I want either of them having been Amora all along or turning into her.

Tim Curry should be the first person to get asked about Surtur, hands down. I don't believe I've seen that "Mountain" guy act, but he certainly fits the bill physically for Skurge. As for Enchantress, I don't realy know.

Balder the Brave, definitely Karl Urban should be cast as Balder

Alice Eve most definitely should be cast as Enchantress

As Hela whoever said Rachel Weisz, definitely she should be cast

And as Surtur, Charles Dance would be my pick

I'm not feeling that. Partially since the MCU doesn't have Baldur and if Ragnarok is mean to provide closure and will most likely depict time as a cycle and involve the Time Gem, I feel like Baldur can just be mentioned as dead for years and he doesn't need to appear. Partially since I'd rather see McIntyre as Iron Fist.

IMO, we already have a big enough cast. The only new additions should be Enchantress, Executioner and Surtur.

I agree, but the Valkyrie could be a nice addition, for the end battle or a future apperance in the Defenders

I notice you don't list any reasons for saying this.

I just think it would be nice to keep the talent of Natalie around but for something other than a contrived, forced love interest. While at the same time giving her more to do and destroying Thor's psyche.

And then we wouldnt have to deal with developing TWO additional love interests post-Jane. He could move on to only Sif, and it would be clear to us that that was the right choice all along. I figure Loki could twist her mind somehow with the spirit of some dead enchantress. That'd be cool.
